Wadham College watercolour. It was founded by Dorothy Wadham in 1600. She managed the property legally as well but dispite that was not allowed to enter. Statutes prevented women entering the college, except an elderly laundress deemed “above suspicion”! #watercolour#oxford
Watercolour of Englands most beautiful village. Bibury is a small village in Gloucestershire. Bizarrely It attracts thousands of visitors annually from Japan. In 1921 Emperor Hirohito’s stayed and noted it as one of the happiest times in his life. #watercolour
Watercolour of one of my favourite pubs. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese. The best part of 500 years old and looking great. A few greats have drunk here like Dickens and a parrot who they have stuffed. When in London a must visit. #watercolour#london
Great pub in Hampstead. You find so many famous people drinking here. Sting, Liam Gallagher and even Dustin Hoffman. Lovely to paint as well (but I didn’t see anyone famous!)
Edinburgh. Perhaps the most romantic spot with the best view. The building is dedicated to Dugald Stewart who few people know. He was a philosopher. It’s a hell of a place to ponder the universe and to paint! #watercolour
A painting of a famous London restaurant. Sherlock Holmes himself dines here in “The Adventure of the Dying Detective”.
Simpson’s began as a coffee house and chess club in 1828, gaining fame for both its roast meats and its role in the British chess scene. Now purely food and so good it is.
The Victoria Tower is the tallest tower in the Palace of Westminster. Named after Queen Victoria, it was for many years the tallest and largest stone square tower in the world, with a height of 98.5 metres (325 feet). #watercolour#london
44 Berkeley Square in watercolour. Home of the Clermont Set. A dubious bunch including Lord Lucan who murdered his wife and was hidden by members. Military, spies and power brokers all gambled together. Beautiful house though! #watercolour#london
Richmond-upon-Thames. A lovely place on the river in London. It grew up around a palace and has always been rather special #watercolour#watercolor#london
The last 17c chapel in Marylebone, London. St Peter’s, Vere Street. It is surrounded bey large commercial development which it will outlast as well. #watercolour#london#marylebone
Florence Cathedral. The construction of the cathedral spanned over 140 years, starting in 1296 and finishing with the dome in 1436. When they started it was not possible to build the dome but they had confidence that future progress would nail it before they finished. #watercolour#architecture
Jesus College, Cambridge in watercolour. It was founded in 1496 by John Alcock, Bishop of Ely. Its proper name …The College of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint John the Evangelist and the Glorious Virgin Saint Radegund. Woah. Now I know why people stick with Jesus College #watercolour#oxford
Watercolour of Ralph Lauren in Paris. The building looks like a Beaux Arts special from 100 years ago but is actually new. Also they have a restaurant which serves US burgers. Next time I am in Paris! #watercolour#paris
