100 times this. Good characters are flawed, they struggle to get what they want, and getting it doesn't always make them happy. People on a "healing journey" fuck up.

When they introduced Booker I was hoping to get more of his rogue smuggler story. Nope, he becomes good and bland.

there’s a distinction between self-care and self-maintenance/grooming.

once you find the line for you, it’s less of a burden to carry both.

And what in the Bambi fuck is up with murdered mom's as motivation?

Seeing Tilly made me groan. I did not like her "growth" over Discovery and don't want to see her on the screen.

That being said it is hard to feel anything about this knowing that there is a push to make Star Trek wIthout a message. Found family, yay. But what else?

Rising anesthetist costs and declining reimbursement are squeezing rural and safety-net hospitals.

Health systems are training more CRNAs and streamlining operations. But those efforts may not be enough to stave off service cuts.

Anesthetist shortage and pay cuts strain hospital budgets
The combination of lower reimbursement and a growing anesthetist shortage could limit access to care and affect provider's expansion plans.

The war may have ended, but our suffering continues. Our home was destroyed, and we have been living in a tent for over a year. We are struggling to rebuild our lives from nothing. Your support means the world to us.You are our hope to start again.

The Great Gatsy is mid at best.

Publishing needs to stop poaching fanfic and invest in actual writers.

I don’t believe in blindly respecting my elders. Since you been here longer, you should know better. Respect is earned, so talk to folks like you got some sense.

The increasing use of AI to surveil people’s emotions endangers not only privacy but also personal autonomy—the bedrock of democracy, writes Oznur Uguz. Newly emerging AI laws fail to provide adequate safeguards, she says.

If we do not regulate emotional AI surveillance now, we might soon have to fake how we feel to protect our privacy, writes Oznur Uguz.

“Dr. Paige’s husband, a chef, can support the family. But the sudden loss of her work, especially as Ebola rages on, has plunged her into a deep depression, she said.
To keep busy, she volunteers at an animal shelter and takes long walks…But she feels, she said, as if she were “walking through mud.”

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

But problem is that when Black women say this or express any urgency about it

The instinct is to find and interlocuteur or filter to “emphasize it” or broaden it

They are directly attacking Black women. Admitted they would do this for a decade and it’s still being treated as vague

Attacks on the federal workforce are also attacks on Black workers, who are overrepresented in the public sector.

Black unemployment is 7.5%. I'm reminded of Coates' observation that Black Americans regularly experience conditions that would be considered a crisis if whites faced them.
