This is exactly how I'd hope it works. Sometimes I listen to only a small handful of artists each month and I'd love to see my money only go to those artists. Would be awesome to even see a breakdown of where my money goes each month (and over time)
Exciting! I've signed up 👽
Perhaps the official play counts live on a separate repo, owned by whoever is managing payments and streaming. If an artist decides to go with a different provider, they keep their profile, subscribers and content. Artists could even offer their own direct payment plans under the same system.
Could a music streaming service work on #atproto? The music, number of plays, subscribers, all on each artist's repo. User subscription fees fairly distributed based on user plays. How is the content restricted for non paying users? How are artists paid by the app while also having portability?

leave tasks for your fairies around the canvas, then get one of them to rate the work of all the others
uh oh, they often seem to be having server issues? Searching species in the Android app is painfully slow 😫

Daily doodle #4067 - probably should have used a ruler for this one
Just kept it simple with Bluesky API 🫡

Been doing this for a few thousand days. Originally was posting on Instagram, now it's here (and dailydoodle.art)

cant stop playing with this
that's verrrrry cool!
I think I'd make a separate bluesky account (@dailydoodle.art) seeing as I have that domain 😎
Thanks for this! But I think I'll go for the simpler way:

1. I post to dailydoodle.art (self hosted, traditional DB)
2. Then it automatically also posts to Bluesky (via API)

That way the data lives in two places and I don't have to get toooo technical with the AT stuff (at least not just yet 😅)

Ok, it's starting to make sense, thanks for your input! My only fear is that Bluesky one day disappears and all my art goes with it (if I don't move my AT repo over in time), hence why I want some version kept with my own hosting. But maybe a copy is better than having a single source of truth.
I guess I'm still struggling with how it would work. Feels like there are lots of ways to do this.

1. I host (traditional DB) and copy to Bluesky
2. I post to Bluesky, and copy (or reference) to my site
3. I host my own AT repo, with posts on Bluesky
Ideally I want to directly upload to my site and then have a feed on AT (would that be via Bluesky posts?). Not sure what the best approach is.
The first thing would be moving my daily art content over to AT. I am currently pulling from Instagram and self hosting it, but Insta API changed (for the millionth time) and I'm completely done with it. dailydoodle.art

Super inspiring, makes me want to get all my content onto the AT Protocol!
I'm hoping I can run it without any accessory, just for a laugh
