Low server RAM, few CPU cores.

If you are just casually playing with a few friends, then it should be fine.

If you try something more complex(eg. build automated farms, have a room with a bajilion animals) then it might lag(you can avoid that with a more careful setup: right server config, etc.)

It is *relatively* easy. If you don't mind the server being kind of meh(hardware-wise), aternos.org/:en/ is a decent free option(for bedrock / java). Should be as easy as creating an account, and clicking a few buttons.

You do have to start it up(click button) every time you want to play, tough.

My parents are not terrible people, but I know how they would react to... some uncomfortable truths about their son.

So, I know that if I want to live, I have to be self sufficient.

Which is not easy, seeing as even an 8m^2 hole in the ground lined with concrete costs an arm and a leg.

Thanks. I think I may just be pushing myself too hard.
I live in a pretty crappy place(queer-vise&in general), and I just want to have a way out, if need be.
So, I have been trying to both work & study at the same time.

I am barely 20 - those should be my best years. And yet, I mostly just work.

That clash is her main purpose(narratively speaking).

She is supposed to contrast the idea of war(noble & heroic) with reality(brutal, cruel, often pointless).

She is also supposed to show some of the consequences to revealing the truth(one of the endings).

If your perspective is wonky, or you are not happy with the colours, or the pose, then that is something you can work on.

But, if a single strand of hair is off, then it might be worth it to forget about that. "Drawing that particular strand of hair" is not a generally applicable skill.

I think here the most important thing is to distinguish between self-criticism which is actionable(big picture) & not(small picture).

If you are obsessing over small, barely noticeable detail, then that is likely bogus.

If you are unhappy with something bigger, then that is likely improvable.

Her naive admiral for your war days clashes with your guilt.

I want Linsday's appearance to be short, but memorable. She took care of you after the war ended, and you had nowhere(and none) left to go.

Linsday drags her local veterans around to different schools and events, trying to ignite the love for her country in the townsfolk. She is not evil, just remarkably naive. She wholeheartedly believes you to be only grieving after your compatriots, and can't fathom you would regret your war days.

In her mind, whatever you did, was justified.

In your mind, what you have done, can never be atoned.

Art is inherently flawed, as it is made by inherently flawed beings.

In my mind, posting "bad art" is not a flaw, but an exercise in humility.

I have been a self-important douche in the past IRL, and I have hurt people.

So, I take even more care to accept myself as just... human. Average.

I find that setting a short time limit helps me a lot. My art has to be always finished the same day it was started. No matter if it is good or crap.

I am a perfectionist by nature, so if I waited till I was happy with it, it would never get done.

Some more(very, very early) concept art for a VN idea. Experimented a tad with a mixed-media look(pixelart + some CC0 photos).

A bit mixed on the results. Certain things are better, some are worse. I feel that the result looks a bit "cheap".

Thanks :). I find writing natural-sounding dialogue in English quite hard.

In school, I was taught British English, but I interacted with a lot of american media.

So, I sometimes catch myself mixing American and British slang, or mixing slang with very formal prose, which is quite jarring.

I am currently desperately trying to avoid scope creep. I have a lot of ideas for characters, and deciding which one to keep, and which one to discard is a pain.

Suppose I just need to write the main story beats down and see what sticks.

I tried to stylise it after top secret documents, since discovering the truth about the conflict your character fought in(and the operation his best friend "died" in) will be the core of the story.

I got some custom RenPy code going, which allows me to easily "redact" parts of the dialogue.
