If every time I was uncomfortable by a Rat I looked away, I wouldn't be able to remember Cookie Dough as she was. My memory repression took her from me wholesale.

...was scared. However I have Hip Dysplasia and do not bend quickly, and my Father collided with me in his chase after her.

...my friend noticed immediately that I froze up and was trying not to panic and cry.

She put the rats away, and she told me she thought I might have some unresolved trauma with Rats.

I was about 15 then, and She was Right.

It wouldn't be until ten years after that moment I would unlock...

But from a young age, seeing a rat scurry by filled me with dread and I would start to cry. Then, when I was a teenager I had a friend with two pet rats.

I was fine when I came in, and they were asleep. And I was even fine when they were awake in their cage. But when they came out to play...

If you only ever look away when something makes you uncomfortable, you may never fully understand your own reactions.

In order to assess damage, you need to embrace discomfort long enough to determine if your discomfort is internal or external. And you must determine this in order to grow further.

....sucks, genuinely.

My mother made sure I felt unwanted and unwelcome in her home, and now she is trying to force her will over me twice as aggressively as she realizes I am an adult and don't need her.

We will get through this. Home can be horrible but it doesn't need to be forever.

Today was meant to be my last day at my mother's home, as I sign my own lease tomorrow.

I am at my boyfriend's house and will grab my cats after I am officially free. I cannot be around her when she's on the warpath, and she is targeting me specifically for moving out.

My iPad basically only allows me to title pieces at canvas creation or if I select Save As and rename it, so my pieces are rarely named

Not that if it were easier I would do it. 90% of my layers are also unnamed lmao
