Thanks for replying! Yeah, maybe I should look into a different comment system if I want those sweet, sweet LJ-esque replies. I was just so proud of building the Bsky-based system. I'm trying to figure out in general if I want to keep DIY blogging or connect up a CMS and bring in comments that way.
