You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.

Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

Hey, Elon, you could try paying more in taxes to provide funds for rehab, job training, housing. I know you think the military is free, but it's not, nor is it equipped to handle the problems of drug addiction. You might know this if you weren't always high.

Also, a lot of the people who get mad at "virtue signaling" also seek to impose their values on others. They're not mad at the signaling; they are mad about the values.

Virtue signaling -- provided what is signaled is an actual virtue -- is good.

I have never understood the idea that we should scorn it. We should ask that more be done than signaling, but having society affirm good things via signaling isn't bad.

I am guessing the Israel-Hamas peace fire is all he really means, though that's not a firm thing yet, could easily go to shit, was only done once Gaza was dust and corpses, and was finalized through negotiations handled by others and with pressure from other countries.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.
