Isn’t a billion just 1,000 million? I don’t get why that’s so hard to understand. Also, if you own a successful software company or your own music catalog like Taylor Swift, should you really be forced to sell those?
I’d rather live free and die sooner than live in captivity. My cats would never stand being trapped in the house, and our main home is 7,800 square feet. I can’t even imagine how they’d feel in the European reality of shoeboxes called houses.
Popular until companies pass those cost on which taxes are and that leads to inflation, then it becomes unpopular again if we learned one thing in 2024 then that the public really, really, really hates inflation to a degree that even surprised me.
Personally, I oppose any tax rate over 50% combined state and federal on any kind of income, on moral grounds. Nobody has a greater right to a share of my income than I do. I don’t understand why that’s such a hard principle to grasp.
Oh please, they tried to push the Jews out of the Middle East, they were just really bad at fighting, so Israel took their territory, the West Bank and Gaza among it.
What are you even talking about we are talking about the occupation of the West Bank after numerous Arab nations tried to get rid of Israel and got their asses handed to them that's why Israel occupies them that predates October 7 by decades.
Why would it? Occupying a territory gained in a war you were forced into and annexing it are two different things. The first is standard procedure, the second is what’s problematic.
Because if they haven’t learned to read by that age, something is amiss, and someone other than their teachers who clearly haven’t fixed the situation should probably know about it.
And here’s where a lot of people disagree. They think having nearly 5% of the population here illegally is a very bad thing. Like I said before, I don’t agree, I actually prefer having an economic underclass for wage pressure reasons alone. But many of my family and friends see it differently.
It wouldn’t have even affected right-wing radio, since the Fairness Doctrine had nothing to do with the rise of talk radio. It didn’t require equal time or a 50/50 balance — any token effort to represent an opposing view was enough to satisfy the rule.
That’s not how the Fairness Doctrine worked. If they gave some left-wing jockey a 30-minute show on Sunday between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. as a counterpoint, that would have been more than enough to satisfy the Fairness Doctrine.
