And my point is that gaming has been expensive for a very long time and has even before Nintendo came along with the Switch 2 and jacked up the price. Which for the record I'm not a fan of.

If you're going to point the finger at Nintendo, make sure you're also pointing it at everyone else too.

Bluesky's failure to catch on with the right-wing isn't because its members are uniquely censorious to people who disagree with them, it's because the one thing this site has going for it is a functional, comprehensive block system, which reduces the right's ability to bully, mock, and harass.

If they can't compete in the marketplace of ideas, that's not my problem at all. We don't need to artificially boost alt views just for viewpoint diversity.

This site would actually be better if it had more voices from across the political spectrum, and efforts to push out right wing accounts are only entrenching Twitter/X's dominant position in the political discourse.

Like, to use a personal example here, I'm a huge Batman fan despite not having read the comics for most of my life. I grew up on various animated series, the Adam West show, the games etc., and that's what I think Nintendo is looking to do here by expanding to other mediums.

Yeah, this quote makes a lot more sense and I can see where Miyamoto is coming from now. At the end of the day, while the games are what made Nintendo who they are, you can't get new fans just by relying on the games. You need to be able to expand, especially since gaming isn't cheap. #Blutoid

I'm not against protests like No Kings and I'm glad people came out yesterday to protest what's happening. But at the same time, it's like calling the fire department 20 minutes after your house is on fire: good job on doing that, but if you had done it sooner, you wouldn't be in a Motel 6 right now

Don't misunderstand me: I'm not saying that the Democrats were perfect last election. There should have been a primary, Biden should have stepped aside earlier, Kamala should have stuck by her left wing views, etc., all of that is true. But at the same time, we all knew this is what his second term

My hot take over No Kings Day is that while it's great to see that many people unhappy with this administration and letting that be known, at the same time, if there were this much enthusiasm at the polls last November, we wouldn't have to do these kind of protests today.
