WIP update. Challenging piece, careful pace. #StarTrek #Spirk

He is. 😩 I will try drawing more of the crew in the same style. That would be good practice.

Here, have a chibified Jim Kirk. Just some experimenting. #StarTrek
A chibified TOS Jim Kirk in color (alcohol-based markers). He's holding his communicator in his right hand and looking irate. His left hand is sitting right above his hip, his thumb pressing into his uniform. No visual reference used, only attempted something different as a challenge.

I am missing my 'Year Five' books more than ever. Need. These stories are fascinating. Gorgeous artwork, too. Anyway: 💖💜💙.

So gay already. I need to acquire a copy of this book. (Not like I haven't already planned on finding all books that are part of the Shatnerverse... I am in so deep)

*TNG, obviously... Autocorrect is the worst.

Powerful take on what she had to go through, reduced to a less 'masculine role'. Number One from those pilots was an absolute badass and some fragile egos couldn't take it. Good thing she ended up incarnating Nurse Chapel and that crazy, charismatic Lwaxana in TBG.

"For all the words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'It might have been.'"

Nurse Chapel seeing her reflection as "Number One," the role Majel Barrett was initially cast for in the first #StarTrek pilot.

Vintage fan art done in half tones of Nurse Chapel seeing her reflection as "Number One," the role Majel Barrett was initially cast for in the original Star Trek pilot.

City on the Edge of Forever. I’m trying new procreate brushes/effects. #KirkAndSpock #StarTrek
A black and white drawing of Kirk and Mr. Spock from the wearing their plains clothes from the episode City on the Edge of Forever

And even achieving part of the work yourself doesn't make such houses affordable. 🙃

Special mention to @purpleenma.bsky.social for the concept of using gold to express and enhance specific parts.

Spock concept. I used a thin brush pen with gold ink, which tends not to look that way on pictures. All colors from alcohol-based markers. Green ball pen for part of the line. #StarTrek
A color drawing of TOS Spock, profile view, in a praying position. Visible down to the stomach areas cloaked in black with a simple golden pattern at neck level. A golden hand, positioned in a ta'al, is touching Spock's. Close-up os both hands touching. Further details in previous alt text.

Absolutely relatable. Me, looking at those incredible Star Trek themed places only my eyes can afford...

A few blue ball pen studies from a few TOS episodes. #StarTrek
Two sketches, each showing one of Spock's hands from the 'Amok Time' episode. One occupies about ⅔ of the page, wiping away an invisible tear on an invisible Chapel. The second hand is gripping an ahn-woon with force, some veins bulging out visibly. Kirk's hands, one atop the other, drawn from 'And the Children Shall Lead' episode. The hand below is partially hidden by the fingers atop it. A partial Spock profile looking to the right from 'Bread and Circuses', showing an eyebrow, an eye, and most of his nose. Fairly light line, showing only essential parts. Three Kirk eye studies, the two upper ones from 'Amok Time' and the lower one from 'Bread and Circuses'. Various emotions can be witnessed.

True that. What's more, it is safe for us to see characters being evil, as they're not real. We can fully enjoy it.

Uhura's evil uniform is Chef's Kiss. No doubt.

Scratch that. Everyone looks hotter, in this episode.
grvning.bsky.social
Why is Mirror!Kirk so attractive? Is it about the dangerousness that's inherent to his character? Or just because he is bitchier than regular Kirk? Regardless, 'Mirror, Mirror' remains a favorite of mine. (And Bearded!Spock? Yum. Also hotter.) Don't mind me.

What wonderful work. 🚀🌌
