A dirty truth about games: most of the time leadership is why a project fails or is cancelled, and even worse: those people go and start their own studios get investments because investors don't question the bro code, and the cycle continues.

I would have loved that.
I honestly don't think Nintendo is looking to get more than a glorified commercial for the brand. I don't expect a Barbie or even a LEGO Movie out of them.

Remember when Spielberg was in talks to film Harry Potter and wanted to cast Haley Joel Osment and walked away due to the control exerted by Rowling re: casting British kids?
Guessing it's a little like that. I'm sure Nintendo was very happy with Illumination.
