It's death by accounting convention

We (via gov) commit to spending X per year indefinitely and that's just a budgeted expense

Or we borrow to build/own the thing and then it's debt with Y<X of interest due

And sure rates change, but so do prices. Politics is too happy with first type

Israel has committed genocide. There is no more serious crime under international law. Culpability does not fade simply because there is now a ceasefire agreement, in the same way that a serial killer wouldn't be pardoned if they simply stop killing. There must be consequences.

Red herring
Wasted effort

Even if I can understand being thrilled to be part of the "next big thing" (unproven, almost definitionally)

Skill is hard. Ideas less so. Easy to assume my ideas could have been great, if only I had skills

Obviously 99% wouldn't be, but way too many think they're in that 1%
