i thought this sounded like shit before i knew anything about it just because part of Panzer Dragoon's visual charm is all the cool visuals it pulls off on old hardware visuals (like faking water reflection/refraction) and any remake or remaster is going to look like Smooth Spongebob by comparison

i saw the synopsis for the new game they just put out and it was like 'discover an apocalyptic world.... travel through time to reclaim the lost souls........' etc. etc. and i just know every twist and turn of that story is going to be annoying shit that thinks its way smarter than it is

they have a vaguely '00's M Night Shamalayan' sorta pretentious element too where it feels like they're always grasping for heady, intellectual themes while lacking even a fraction of the writing ability to handle it well. It's overambitious but in like a dumb showy way and not a charming way.

i think a big problem i have with bloober team games (outside of the very well documented dogshit handling of mental health stuff) is a related overarching issue where their games are very story-heavy and their stories are kinda stupid and bad
