its frustrating when you play an indie horror game that has good visuals and mechanics with potential but its all supposed to drive a story and the story is a nothingburger that doesn't have any interesting story threads and those threads end up going nowhere anyway and none of it matters

I'm watching this old Japanese straight-to-video anthology from 1991. It doesn't have subtitles so I can't understand any of the dialogue, but funnily enough it does have a spooky narrator speaking in english between stories.

found this toy gun for really cheap that uses the exact same mold as the Famicom Hypershot, so i bought it so that i can digitize it into a Doom weapon spriteset without having to pay 200$+

genuinely surprised how warm the reception was for my Halloween Doom map - I made it for the love of the game/season and thought it'd pass pretty quietly, so I'm glad to see there are people enjoying it

it's really funny to me that big movie director/writer person Taylor Sheridan was an FMV actor in Crusader: No Remorse and a couple other games in the 90s (under a pseudonym, but a really really obvious one)

nevermind i figured it out, i just had to remake the texture and pnames files by having it import the base doom 2 ones first rather than having slade make brand new ones
how do I get a map i'm making with custom textures to run in DSDA Doom without it mixing up the textures

I'm not sure yet if it'll be finished before Halloween since I have drawing stuff to do as well, but I'm working on a small 90's inspired Doom map with whatever resources i could scrounge up + a few of my own (and also my own Halloween weapon sprites).

I went to run Circus2.wad via GZDoom and it fucking crashed on startup lmao.
I'm starting to really understand why a lot of people work with simpler Doom ports nowadays if they're not making an advanced mod or a standalone game.
