Trying to post a photo a day of things that make me smile, mainly a mix of sunrises, squirrels, bikes and parkruns...

My longest post fracture ride so far. A bit wiped out now but it was good to go a bit further.
The upsides of darker evenings - watching the hedgehog munching away just outside the back door while I'm cooking tea
The next stage of shoulder rehab awaits...
On our way to see @thelovelyeggs.bsky.social but is it a D or an F hiding behind the hat? 😉
Very pleasant autumnal walk in the park saying hello to all the squirrels
Getting my #parkrun time back under 25 minutes wasn't even the highlight of the day - because it's also New Bike Day!
After I was driven into while cycling this is something I noticed - I actually got back on a bike fine but I was really hesitant to restart driving because I realised how badly it could go wrong if I wasn't 100% ready and I didn't want to hurt anyone else.
Wetherby #parkrun was just a bit faster than last month when I was tailwalker in a sling! Yesterday's comeback activities also involved ordering a new bike and getting outside for a ride in the autumn sun
Normality returns - getting round town by Brompton! (The camera predates the accident but I am being more careful to make sure it's charged and moved from bike to bike now)
Another recovery milestone ticked off with a night of live music and... circus. I was sore and tired by the end, but it's good to start doing stuff again!
Still a bit sore but it felt so good to be out in the sun!
I felt more confident that today's #parkrun would be a run rather than a walk, but I wasn't expecting that! I used my arm a lot more normally and felt like I was running properly. So proud of myself!
6 weeks and 5 days after my accident I braved an outside bike ride. Not far or fast, but I wanted to check how it feels before deciding whether to go a bit further at the weekend. I'm definitely healing!
I'm definitely planning to cycle to physio now my physio is happy for me to ride outside, but I think it may need to be the Brompton so I don't need to find somewhere to lock it. Or maybe a beryl bike.
Did you know?

People can & do ride bikes to medical appointments (when it’s safe to do so, when density makes the trips reasonable in length & when there’s places to park bikes).

Forced car dependency isn’t great for any of us.

Stupidly wet for my 200th #parkrun but for the first time in 6 weeks I actually ran. Or at least jogged, gingerly, supporting my arm, but I didn't want to stay out there any longer than I needed to!
We decided to visit Middleton Woods #parkrun for their 300th event and spotted they had a tailwalker but wanted parkwalkers. Time to speed up a little and not be last! It felt nice to walk at a more purposeful pace and let the arm swing free! Next week might involve a tiny bit of running...
Celebratory pancakes after fracture clinic - the bones are nicely aligned and healing well so I can start to ditch the sling and start some mobilisation 😀
It seems that the top accessory for a sling is a hi viz vest. While I can't participate I'm getting plenty of volunteering done! Today's scenery is the turn on a TT.
More tailwalking this morning. Definitely getting fed up of being broken now so it was a good way to make sure I got out of the house.
The comeback has started very gently with a bit of tailwalking at Armley #parkrun
Getting there slowly, shoulder still messed up but the ribs are fine to ride on the turbo so I'm feeling more like myself and the brain fog is starting to clear. You?
Carnival! Rum punch and jerk chicken to get in the mood 😀
