Hey guess what, you can help!

We're collecting funds to support our neighborhood elementary school families with basic needs (food, winter gear, etc.).

Donate, repost, share the link with friends/neighbors, etc. Thank you! ❤️

It's hovering over Powderhorn. I left that area at 8:30 to go home and there was *no one* around. Literally just silence and one or two cars passing through.

But there are some people keeping vigil at the site of a murder, so I guess we gotta terrorize a neighborhood more!

Saw these large wheat pasted posters tonight around the south side. These particular ones are on boards that went up on the new development at Nicollet/31st. This was the site of a Wells Fargo bank that burned in 2020.

One of the many, many ways people are fighting ICE in Minneapolis is helping neighbors safely shelter at home during a time when abductions are genuinely rampant.

People in Minneapolis are doing *so much* great work
This was incredible. We fed 40 families today. Thank you to @jchavezmpls.bsky.social for helping fundraise, @elitalksmpls.bsky.social for organizing with me, and the dozen people who helped us pack and shop. And thank you to everyone who donated. I have no words.

I love getting snow overnight and having both of your sidewalks cleared by 7:30am the next day.

Real cities plow their sidewalks.

Frey: "I think the initial impetus to come to MN was to arrest & deport a bunch of Somali people. They got here & realized the Somali people that would be deported are all citizens. Then they turned their ire toward our Latino community & others. These are communities that make Mpls a better place."

This guy is in Minneapolis standing before an American citizen in an SUV.

The only reason he's brandishing an assault rifle is because he wants the people he's purportedly there protecting to feel terrorized by his presence.

This is not protection. This is occupation.

Powderhorn park today. Thousands showed up to stand up against the heinous and inhumane actions of ICE. My neighbors give me hope. ❤️

I fear that Walz and the national Dem leadership are stuck in a world of obsession over optics. Obsessed with keeping the left/activist/mob in check.

And optics do matter!

But I think the optics that matter now are authenticity, courage, and meaningfully caring for each other. Agency.

Some folks claim they could never live in a city bc it’s too loud, esp overnight.

Minneapolis is quiet at night!

The only things that have interrupted my sleep in 6 years of living here are
1) fireworks around the 4th and
2) incessant helicopters after George Floyd was murdered and now.
The fed helicopter is flying off the tracker and it’s so low it’s literally shaking my house. I’m going insane

Pentz Homes will be doing a rolling food drive to support our struggling local businesses and help the families who are afraid to leave their homes. You can help in two ways! Shop at local immigrant-owned stores and donate the goods, or send us your funds and we will do the shopping for you.

Outside of the Twin Cities?

Feeling helpless?

You can raise funds! Get your friends and neighbors to donate.

Families are too afraid to leave their homes. Teachers and social workers know which families have the most need.

Fundraise so we can focus on being in the streets.

Right. Mutual aid needs on the ground in Minneapolis:

Our kids are out of school. Many families are too afraid to leave their homes.

Who’s delivering groceries today? Any donations needed?

One way to a Minnesotans heart is to see us. I feel seen.

I love us too.
I love this so much. I love this place. I love us. And they will never break us. Never.

Canada could annex us tomorrow and 95% of us would be absolutely thrilled.

Please take us, we're basically Canadian already anyways.

What is the Minneapolis/St. Paul feed? It’s a private list of verified locals only. There’s nothing on there that you wouldn’t see by following the same people, but it’s a way to see a lot of locals at once.

People need to be checked and added to this feed manually, so you need to fill out a form.
Hey MSP people who want to join the MSP feed, here are instructions! If you ever DM'd or tagged Ian asking to be added, that won't work -- you need to fill out the form.
Here’s a link to the instructions! Note that turnaround is not immediate, this is a volunteer labor of love 💕

It’s day 40 of the ICE occupation of MSP.

Today Powderhorn Park was packed with thousands upon thousands of Minnesotans, remembering Renee, and saying ICE OUT of Minnesota.

As so many of us were there together, many others were out protecting neighbors, delivering groceries, and giving rides.

Reminder for Mpls & beyond:

"Say Her Name" is reserved for Black women specifically due to the erasure of Black women's lives & deaths & stories.

It's been delightful to see the play on Renee Nicole's last name "She was Good" etc

If trying to lead a chant, maybe:
"Who was she?"
"She was Good!"

Hey, Tim and Jacob, if you have any say, leave people alone
This is Minneapolis:

Our kids asked that their white noise machine be turned up to try to drown out the noise of the helicopter that’s been nonstop since we woke up this morning.

Our 7yo asked “Isn’t it past their bedtime, too? They should go home & stop being so noisy.”
