NEW: The private jet that flew 10 shackled migrants to an Eswatini prison last weekend is owned by Israeli-American billionaires with close ties to Trump.

It’s oligarchs all the way down.

A producer in the London bureau is the *only* CBS person quoted in their story about Israel killing its longtime freelance cameramen in Gaza—someone who once filed dispatches for them from an ambulance, while wounded.

Not quoted: The network’s editor in chief.

this has flown under the radar, but we are doing third-country detention in a country with a worse human rights record than North Korea
And here’s an Omni jet landing in Equatorial Guinea yesterday. This is very likely a third-country removal to a torture prison, the second in a week and the third there overall.

Equatorial Guinea is so corrupt that if its oil wealth were divided evenly among its population of slightly under 2 million they’d have an average income on par with a lot of European countries. But instead less than 1/2 the population has clean drinking water & almost 8% of kids die before age 5
EQUATORIAL GUINEA AND TOGO.

This is very likely the SECOND load of migrants ICE sent to a torture prison in Equatorial Guinea, for a payment of $10 million from State Dept. humanitarian funds.

There's also an Omni 767 headed to Mesa right now. Omni did the previous Iran transfer deports.

This aircraft is returning from a central Asia ICE removal trip, and I'd expect it to go to an Omni base to swap crew before it goes out again, but it isn't impossible they brought a crew in. Concerning.

An Iranian man being deported last fall told NYT he was so afraid of returning to Iran that tried to slit his wrists on the tarmac before being loaded onto an ICE flight. He soon escaped Iran again, and his family was being harassed by the revolutionary guard.
My org @immcouncil.org represents those two gay men. They had been arrested on charges of sodomy by Iranian moral police, and fled the country seeking asylum. They face the death penalty if returned, yet the Trump admin denied their asylum claims in a kangaroo court process.

They are terrified.

Nick and other volunteers are doing incredible work monitoring ICE flights out of Minneapolis. I wish there were volunteer monitors like this at every regular ICE Air extraction airport (psst, BWI, Hanscom, Richmond, Victorville, Gary/Chicago, Denver, etc etc)
Today was MSP's 31st ICE flight of the year; MN50501 observed 58 deportees boarding, bringing the estimated total for January to 2,021.

The photo below, at 1:28 PM, was the 2,000th estimated deportee of the year was hobbling up the steps.

Please join us at MSP's Terminal 1 tomorrow to protest.
