It's been a hell of a week, so I'm going to get especially petty for a minute, and dive into some silly speculation.

I think I found a pattern: how can you tell which posts AltNPS actually writes themselves? Look for the grammar mistakes.

This is when AltNPS's claims of receiving "reports" go from irritating to dangerous.

Helicopters in Minneapolis could be anything. Could be news choppers. Could be ICE. AltNPS doesn't know, but they're pushing out a vague message to their millions of followers, and encouraging their paranoia.

This is a mess.

AltNPS is talking about Operation Guardian, a joint operation between ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

They don't link to Jonathan Greco's article in KOCO News 5 about this. If they had, they might have seen that the operation is focused on Interstate 35, not 40.

The specific phrase "happened in the 600 block of 24th Avenue North in Minneapolis" doesn't appear in the Star Tribune coverage linked in AltNPS's comments (by their followers, of course, not by AltNPS), but it does appear verbatim in FOX 9's report on the shooting.

I have a lot of thoughts on AltNPS's apparent donation to TJ Sabula's GoFundMe, few of which are kind.

But I think it shows how AltNPS focuses on aesthetics over action. They didn't donate to, say, a mutual aid fund, they gave five grand to a guy who yelled at Trump in a viral video.

There's some very careful word replacement in AltNPS's post, but it's definitely ripped from Ben Weiser's update in the NYT live thread.

Let's quickly look at some details:
Alt National Park Service: A federal judge in Manhattan has directed the government to formally respond to concerns raised by Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna, who are pressing for the appointment of an independent monitor to oversee the Justice Department’s compliance with a disclosure law they authored. The statute requires the department to release its records related to Jeffrey Epstein and his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Under the law, the Justice Department was required to produce the files by December 19. Alt National Park Service: To date, however, only a limited portion of the materials has been made public. Massie and Khanna argue that the partial release falls far short of what the statute mandates, describing the department’s failure to fully comply as a blatant violation of federal law. I'm angry about AltNPS because they're talking about St. Paul. I grew up on the West Side, a majority Latino neighborhood.

And AltNPS is using MY neighbors for clout. MY hometown. MY fucking city.

And as far as I can tell, the claim that Ross is "in hiding" comes directly from the reputable news source known as the Daily Mail. Incredible.

These "reports and videos," plural, seem to really be *a* video, singular. We've seen this twice now, where AltNPS makes a single action sound like multiple, to make it more dramatic.

And maybe there's more than one incident (I couldn't find any others), but AltNPS didn't bother linking to any.

AltNPS seems to be avoiding saying the name of the ICE agent who killed Renee Good in Minneapolis.

Since we learned that the agent's name is Jonathan Ross, AltNPS has posted over 1,100 words about the murder, and ZERO of those words are "Jonathan Ross."
Alt National Park Service on Facebook: Yikes 😳 the video Vance shared to defend the ICE agent’s actions in the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good does not clearly establish that the agent was in imminent danger or justify deadly force. Vance reposted cellphone footage taken by the agent involved, framing it as “proof” that the officer acted in “self-defense” against a threat from Good’s vehicle. However, the footage as showing a tense encounter in which Good is heard calmly saying things like, “That’s fine, dude, I’m not mad at you,” before being ordered out of her vehicle; as she begins to drive away, the video abruptly cuts and gunshots are heard, and a voice can be heard making a derogatory remark immediately afterward calling her a “fucking bitch”. The video does not clearly show the agent being struck or in immediate danger when he fires, and that characterizing Good’s movement as a lethal threat is not supported by what is visible in the clip. Minneapolis leaders have openly disputed the federal narrative and called for accountability, saying the footage suggests excessive force rather than a justified defensive action.  Because the video does not provide a clean, undeniable depiction of an imminent threat, it’s actually more incriminating rather than exculpatory. The tone of the encounter and the apparent lack of an obvious, unambiguous danger at the moment shots are fired. It actually shows the ICE agent acted out of uncontrolled anger.

I wonder if AltNPS knows that Google Lens exists, because it took me about ten secs to learn that this pic came from news agency Agence France-Presse.

We now have a name, as confirmed by the Minnesota Star-Tribune. Which means that AltNPS is apparently implying to have known the killer's name, and not told anyone, HOURS before the news broke.
