The light has changed, and Via is sprinting across the crosswalk towards her father, brightly illuminated by the headlights of a car waiting at the opposite crosswalk. Tears brim and fall from Via's eyes as she runs, glittering in the light of the headlights. The image is monochrome, save for the distant maroon of Pride's sky, Via's eyes, the red stoplight, and the red hand signal on the opposite crosswalk signal.

Via has reached her father, embracing him in a crushing hug, which he returns as the force of the impact shuffles him back a step. Both father & daughter are grinning widely, tears overflowing from their eyes as they reunite. The image is monochrome, save for the maroon aura surrounding their reunion.

Stolas’ breath caught in his throat as he noticed the company she was sitting with, and he felt his eyes water, “Via?” He all but whispered as his daughter turned her head to face him as well.

Stolas (& Blitz, barely visible in the bottom right corner) waits at a crosswalk at night, having just finished a very significant date in the park they emerged from. Across the street is the "Midnight Brew" Cafe, bustling with business despite the time of night. Sitting at one of the outside tables are Loona & Via, engaged in somber conversation with each other. Stolas (& Blitz) both appear surprised to see both of their daughters there. Stolas's eyes are beginning to tear up. The image is monochrome, save for the maroon highlights of the bricks on the building, Stolas's eyes, Via's eyes, and Blitz's irises.

Close up on Via & Loona, who have noticed their fathers across the street. Loona has turned in her chair, staring smugly at the men as she lazily holds her mug of tea, while Via has stood from her seat, concern and surprise in her expression. The table is strewn with sugar packets and what looks like a manila folder. Via is wearing her classic beanie and a pullover hoodie. Loona is wearing an open button-up with the sleeves rolled to her elbows, and a cropped band tee underneath. The image is monochrome, save for maroon highlights on the bricks of the building, Via's eyes, and Loona's sclera.

Via has moved from the table to stand opposite Stolas & Blitz at the crosswalk. The crosswalk signal displays a four-fingered hand, signaling it is unsafe to cross. Cars whizz past on the street between Via & the men. Behind Stolas & Blitz is the entrance to the park they just exited, surrounded by brick walls and gated with metal bars. The park has several lush trees, a brick pathway, and a gazebo in the distance. The image is monochrome, save for the maroon highlights of Pride's sky, Stolas's eyes, Via's eyes, and the "stop" hand signal.

korra was also constantly being fucked over by nick (timeslot changes, sudden budget limitations, moving the show to streaming only midway thru the season etc.) so hazbin is better off BUT this is a thing to keep in mind re: the story & its density/pacing, you know?

do people forget what korra’s production was like? a single season, renewed for a 2nd, renewed again for a 3rd & 4th simultaneously? & how bc of that the first 2 finales felt like singular end points & the other 2 felt like a cohesive story?
