drop a “well not with that attitude” in your group chat today. respect the classics

have they tried giving teslas Tylenol

I wonder what other ubiquitous OTC meds we’ve understood for decades cause neurodivergence in a way no one noticed until now. If I want to lock in during gaming should I take an Advil?

genuinely they are making me a meaner, angrier person than I was in 2015 and I have to consciously resist
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
but she was listed as qualified!

i think the dissolution of the reality/fiction distinction is making too many people think this is an episode of a TV show that'll wrap up its storylines and move on
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
to add to this, the persuasive cases against bigotry have already been made. it's not like we're waiting on some revelations or philosophers

so we're stuck with a we must win/they must lose world

when reason and righteousness are not enough, you have to drive up the price of evil
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
the tactics of a specific exchange, i don't have the spoons to judge, but we're in a situation that pain is going to happen for everyone, and we're just choosing how much and who bears the worst of it

we're far away from technocratic lets-optimize-our-outcomes politics
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
i'm not like, happy about this! i don't want anyone to go without healthcare because their hospitals closed

but the people in those places voted for this, like, specifically, and will not notice/care if the hospital *didn't* close because the democrats did something to save it
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
it's not like we decided to do friend/enemy politics, we just had an administration that went all in on deliver-good-things-for-thy-enemy!

they decided this! this is the fight they wanted!

in many respects a lot of culture war grievances are luxury items. you purchase the republican political agenda like you would a rolex.

because other than the apocryphal blue haired barista encounters or feral hog swarms, "culture" is not a day to day problem the government needs to solve
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
holy shit that's like, basic legal terminology stuff, first day of law school crap good god

why do the people in power have to be THIS stupid, it's embarrassing
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
and Scrooge himself ends up happier (and maybe more importantly, not damned) for doing so!
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
also just like, we need to be clear about reality. just because a statement serves a valid rhetorical purpose doesn't mean it's allowed to be misleading. the truth is independent of our preferences and if we lose sight of that we're all at the octopus rodeo without our safety hats

look, drawer of forsaken electronics, if i already had a spare power strip, why did i go buy another one? obviously i would have looked into the drawer of forsaken electronics where stuff that "might come in handy" is stored before just getting a new one

how do you explain this, drawer? you can't
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
also we should probably have a bigger house of representatives
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
yeah that's the kind of thinking i'm aiming at
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
i'm still tinkering with the construction because it's easy to accidentally say "you are unworthy of freedom" but that's not the intent. at a certain point freedom requires not demanding the government boss your kids around for you when they get a haircut you disapprove of
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
yeah they're really talking themselves into something soul-deadening ain't they

every time Trump is on the edge of crossing over to be with his Lord and Savior, he hears "don't go. the drones need you. they look up to you."
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
we'll just nerve staple the drones until peace is restored

in the grim darkness of the far future, there is only country. the Queen Empress of Mankind, the undying Dolly, kept alive by the square-dance sacrifice of millions at the Dollywood complex on Holy Terra...

i don't think we can recover. i think a new nation must be born out of this. it can be mostly the same nation but with a slightly new graphics engine and more cosmetic monetization, but it at least needs a balance patch
hellscapenavigator.bsky.social
Sure is. Tom Clancy’s Dracula would be a faithful adaptation concept

the runner up appears to be season 1 of the X-Files
