My main exposure to writing in 40k being Rogue Trader, FFG games and Gaunt's Ghost has probably have colored my opinion of 40k somewhat.

Both Warhammers are some of my favorite settings for TTRPGs tho

CGI is actually quite expensive. Pretty sure at least as expensive as using practical effects or sets.

Just cause it looked kinda ass didn't mean it didn't cost a shitload of money.

Cause they don't understand anything, because they haven't actually engaged with the thing. They hate for surface level reasons.
The most scathing and seething hatred for a piece of media is from a fan who thinks what they enjoyed turned to shit.

I think it's actually a very short list.
Not because the Imperium or whoever could actually beat anyone, but simply because of the sheer size and scale of the 40k Universe.

Among SciFi settings it's one of the most, maybe the most populated one.

And then there's the moral bankruptcy.

In Agents of Shield the world is literally broken into pieces and some people still live on one of the pieces thanks to a cold war era SHIELD disaster bunker.

A kilometre sized asteroid would not be a mays extinction event but certainly devastate more than a small country.

There's more to an impact event than the initial hit. The effects after would be catastrophic.

I think the now retired UB frame only really worked for 40k and is otherwise extremely ugly. Kinda ruined LotR for me.

With every set Magic loses a little more of its own identity and turns more and more into an IP slopfest.

I don't think it's good as a business model or longterm health of it.

I do think even for a sexy character the sexy character design is ass.

It's giving Halloween sexy Samurai from Temu or hard core role play porn video of questionable quality. Utterly sauceless and trying so hard and overtly to be sexy it just looks stupid.
