Astraea was Emet-Selch's headache. She always broke rules (and into his apartment upon returning to Amaurot after her trips), but he greatly admired her genius & passion.

(A little Ancient Valentione's story I made last year 1/2)

Astraea aka Azem is averting her gaze, with her hands behind her back. Emet-Selch is staring at her with his arms crossed.

Azem: "So... In my travels, there was a place I traveled to with a rather interesting tradition this time of year..."

Emet-Selch is trying to look into Astraea's eyes as well as see what she is hiding, but she is still trying to look away. He calls her out on it.

Emet-Selch: "Azem, why are you avoiding contact...? Exactly what kind of trouble did you bring back to Amaurot this time...?!"

Astraea continues to look away, her eyes nervously closed as she holds out the item she found, chocolate.

Astraea aka Azem: "It is... a gift... An edible sweet tasting gift people give to those they love... If it is not acceptable, I can-"

Emet-Selch interrupts Astraea, his hand going towards hers. She continues to look away.

#Rainwaters- Thancred on The Empty. Ryne tricked them into sharing a "get-along-tent" on his last night on First (things were still awkward despite no longer arguing). They stayed up late catching up on everything that transpired between them & after Hex fell asleep, Thancred admitted his feelings.

#Hexbert- Hex said it to Ardbert on last day together (as separate people). Hearing it surprised him, but they knew feelings were mutual much sooner than that (they kept talk of their relationship unspoken since they silently knew it wouldn't have a future in a way most relationships do).⤵️

Aside from her scrapbook, Hex’s bag is also filled with miscellaneous findings from her travels- plants & herbs, rocks/gems, gifted food, fabric scraps, etc. Her linkpearl is in there too, somewhere, probably near the bottom…

#wolqotd inspired by another, but i love this kinda question: what is your wol/oc typically carrying around in their bag? supplies, trinkets, momentos, junk? is it pre-packed for their work/travels or is it full of souveneirs they've pick up along the way? is their bag organized or is it a disaster?

Hex helped Ardbert feel less regret for his choices & regain the ability to see hope in the world.

As for Hex, It's still a work in progress, but Ardbert influenced her to be more open about her needs & feelings, instead of trying to avoid them & she tries to take care of herself more.

Going into some of the darker changes though, I hc some of Emet-Selch's madness is distortion of Astraea. From the appearance (light front highlight streak with dark hair, makeup, flashy clothes) to the way of persuasion. He's not actively aware of it (it's all jumbled up thanks to Zodiark)

Astraea got Emet-Selch out of his bubble (or tried). He was stuck in his ways but she got him to try new things. It's why he travels after the Sundering.

Emet-Selch, meanwhile, made Astraea her more grounded. She was always traveling (even as a kid) so helped bring her back to focus.⤵️

Hex would try to comfort them in any way she could 1st without the physical contact (touch adverse). She'd then give them a headpat or stroke their hair, but if that doesn't seem to work, she'd give them an awkward one armed hug, ⤵️

Hex can handle moderately spicier food (like a 7.5 out of 10...?). If it's something too spicy though, she'd try to tough it out & would mostly keep a poker face going, but would move fast to chug a beverage between bites.

How does your WoL/OC handle spicy food? Can they chomp into a dragon pepper just fine? Do they try to tough it out but they're clearly Struggling? Can they not handle any spice whatsoever?

Despite being strictly DPS, Hex will pull aggro (she's generally fine letting Tanks do their job, despite sometimes pulling a little too much, but if they're not looking ok, she'll jump in to protect them). Ardbert even teases her in their late night chats that she should become a Tank,but⤵️
