die eu macht sich selber lächerlich mit so einer farce. jeder einzelne eu-bürger sollte von so einem gesetz beleidigt sein, denn es nimmt uns nicht ernst. diese kasperle sagen es sei okay tiere wie dreck zu behandeln. sie erklären sich auf seiten der fleischessenden, WÄHREND sie sie verhöhnen!

Today the theme for #BirdOfTheDay is #migration. Going widescreen on this: visited Cape Tourmente last week, where snow geese are gathering for their migration. Basically out of reach for my camera, but I found the sheer numbers already impressive, even though the peak is still weeks away

oh yes, it's such a spectacular sight.
They're such great flyers, too, here's one attempting to land on a cliff in high winds, all flaps engaged. He was practically standing still in the air *g*

a gannet viewed from behind, hovering in the air. It's wings, tail feathers, and feet are spread wide away from it's body to maximise wind resistance.

They really are. I'm lucky, their only breeding colony in Germany is just a day trip away (on an island) from me, and they're so used to people that you can get very close without disturbing them.
