Being the known #himbo in my circles of friends, the question of “what is a himbo?” is something I have had asked from time to time. So…

What Is A Himbo?

Himbo is a male version of a bimbo. A term that was pretty popular in 80s and possibly used as early as the 60s. Classically both words were meant to be derogatory to describe an attractive but not terribly bright individual. As with many slang words used in popular culture the meaning has evolved and is not always used in the strictest sense of what they once meant.

By modern standards some have chosen to embrace being a himbo as positive identity.

Some say jokingly the modern himbo code is three pillars:

Pure of heart
Strong of Muscle
Dumb of Ass

But even by that it is not always a strict rule that someone has to completely and absolutely embody those. Not all Himbos are idiots. Some can be quite smart at times, but also have air-head or "I don't get it" moments to things that are not always complex.

Those that willing want to embrace being a himbo are usually guys that want to workout, get buff, try not to sweat little things, prefer being nice over being an asshole, and not spend too much time thinking...especially about things that will only make them stress.

Someone should compile a mailing list of all the democrat politicians that have used such tactics and just spam them everyday with emails like “We need you to donate just $25 more dollars so Becky can buy groceries” or “Sam is $5 away from paying his rent. Contribute now!”

I donated once to Warnock here in GA a few years back and as a result got (still get) frequent text and emails asking for donations to XXXX Dem candidate, or emails to help the DNC save democracy. Have had to unsubscribe or text STOP so many times.

Granted, I’m aware that the matter isn’t actually how Chiles and her attorneys what to frame it. And sadly the children sent to conversion often are done so at the will of their parents, and not their own choice, but we need to do all we can to make queer/trans youths know they aren’t broken.

If the SCOTUS wants to pretend that kids should have the choice then our new fight is to focus on making sure the new generation of kids identifying as queer/trans know that they don’t [have] to seek conversion therapy and there are much, much better choices out there for them.

My idea/hope is we fight this in a different way. Conversion therapy existed in part then because many kids were unaware there was validity in being queer/trans and there was a way to exist and be happy. Now, there is more awareness that there are options other than trying to remove that part.

And I’ve had enough people over the years tell me “degrees themselves are actually worthless.” They are pretty much the equivalent of paper money. They only represent the idea that you passed a curriculum and possess certain knowledges.

Artist and designers create the look of everyday things from clothing to cellphones to cars. And the
packaging...is artist. And the ads selling the products...artist.

Architects...are artist. Even engineers are artists adjacent. Though their degrees are a science

When I was in high school (back in the early 90s) and my dad asked me what I wanted to be I said
"something in the arts". Of course he disapprovingly said "where's there money in that." He had this narrow idea of what all is impacted by the arts.
