He smiled softly, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head. “Love you too." He whispered back.

He hadn’t realized how tired he was until then. The warmth of her body and her steady breathing were quick to pull him under. Within moments, he as well, drifted off to sleep beside her.

She need not ask twice; he simply smiled and settled in beside her, waiting for her to curl up against his warmth.

Letting her use his arm as a pillow, he pulled her close and gently stroked her hair in a soothing motion which he knew would help her drift to sleep.

"Rest well, love. " He murmured.

Call on me if you need anything, alright? I love you." He murmured before pressing a light kiss to her cheek.

He smiled and nodded before carefully scooping her up in his arms and carrying her upstairs to their bedroom.

Once inside, he gently laid her on the bed and tucked her in. "I’ll take care of the dishes then head back to the workshop to continue working on our baby’s crib. +

"Of course, my love." He swiftly draped an arm around her shoulders as soon as he noticed her growing drowsy, letting her lean her weight against him.

"Where do you want to take a nap? On the couch or in our bedroom?"

"I can already imagine it will be since we'll be doing it together." He replied as he nuzzled back on her with a wide smile.

He brushed his thumb along her cheek as he asked. "Would you like to do it now or after a nice nap?"

He was quick to press a kiss to her pouting lips the moment he saw them, before letting out a chuckle.

"I was only joking. Thank you, love. And meat pie sounds amazing!"

"You do flatter me sometimes, you know that?" He said with a soft chukcle. "But thanks, love. That made me happy."

He then eagerly nodded, grinning widely as a response. "Yes, definitely! Whatever you need, I’ll help. Though I’m curious... what would you like to try baking this time?"

"Seeing you enjoy everything I make even if they're simple fare gladdens me. I'll be more than happy to cook for you of course!" His face then lit up with anticipation as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"You will? Don’t tire yourself out too much, though. I’ll help too if you need a hand."

He laughed as he reached to gently pinch her cheek. "You really like my cooking that much? Very well, I will strive not to disappoint you."

"Oh and I'm still looking forward to watch you bake, by the way." He added with a playful grin.

He rested his cheek against her head, nuzzling her gently once he finished his own plate. Laughing softly before he spoke.

"Thanks, love. We both need it, then. You have to eat well too for our child, alright?"
