Hey bluesky! We're Worms & Bones, two 🏳️‍🌈 artists who make a wide variety of art dolls under our business name ✨Homemade Horrors.✨
We've been at this for over 10 years, & we specialize in critters that are full of character, soft and durable.

A bearded vulture gryphon art doll reclines regally, one wing lifted as if showing off. Their body is a creamy hue to match their face, fading to a tan and finally ending in rust just above their feet. The underside of their wing is white, while the outter feathers are a deep brown to match their tail. A large pastel coloured dragon art doll shows its teeth threateningly. Its wings are outstretched, with soft pink skin between lavender tines, and a translucent thumb claw that matches its large horns. Its heavily scaled on both face and feet, but looks very soft elsewhere... if you dared try and pet it. An anthro hyena stands, hand lifted in greeting to show blue paw pads. Its a combination of blue, pinks and whites like the trans flag, and its longer mane has corresponding stripes. Its grinning, slightly mischievously. A grumpy cream coloured bear art doll turns to observe you. Its two toned, with a soft lighter cream belly that swirls into the darker more pie-crust coloured cream behind its shoulder. Its claws are a dark walnut, and its muzzle slightly lighter.

Oh that's so cool, I had no idea what they were called!

I mean... I can't say that ISN'T what happened. It was a popular tourist beach, and I have NEVER seen another like it since. He isn't pristine either, he's definitely got some 'velveteen rabbit' style love-wear and I dragged this poor fucker everywhere as a child.

A friend was with me, but we were wandering separately, so she didn't hear my GASP when I saw him. He was set apart from everything else on the shelf too, in a way that drew my eye instantly. I would have recognized that awful face anywhere though!

Maybe so! Though I didn't remember, mom said grandma had given it to me, and I've been missing her lately. I'd like to think maybe she influenced the spontaneous stop to arrange my finding him!

Right?? I cannot believe it!

Its definitely... unique. LOL I think I loved it as a kid because it was SO weird.

The tactile experience of holding him is jarring; I remember all the sharp seams digging into my hands even then. He's even stamped with the year he was made 1982.
I have NEVER seen another since I lost mine, and then there he was alone on a thrift store shelf.
I promise not to lose you again dude!

When I was 4 I lost my favourite toy at the beach. I grew up in a port town, and the water was always a murky chocolate milk brown with zero visibility so it was easy.
And then yesterday, 100s of miles away, SOMEHOW I found the same dragon I had lost.
He's awful & ugly and I love him. $4 well spent.
A plastic dragon toy on a dashboard. Its pretty freakin ugly, with bulging red eyes and nostrils painted sloppily, and a white plastic base hastily airbrushed teal. Its green wings are just glued on flaps, and it has huge sharp seams everywhere.

Bones and I did a quick investigation of a historic home turned museum last night, and caught some neat stuff. Would love to go back some day!
Close up of an antique chair with a red throw on it. There is a sign that reads, "Everyone who ever sat in this chair is now dead. Play it safe and sit in one of our designated guest seats." A picture of a bay window with a wooden stand in front of it at night. The trees outside are lit by a street light, though inside a soft red light paints everything. There is a slight black haze on the left over the window and wall that does not correspond with anything in the picture.

Oh not at all! He's very plain; the joke at the barn is he grew six white hairs in the middle of his forehead so we couldn't call him 'plain bay' anymore. 😆

I'm very lucky to be able to say he is mine! He's a quarter horse actually. We just did our last big show - a friend is likely going to be riding him for a little bit doing some different work while I focus on my mare.

Love this colour scheme- gonna have to use it on something else soon!

A hand holding a painted dragon head. The sculpt is handmade, not 3d printed and heavily scaled with a cheeky expression and large eyes. Its painted slate blue with goldenrod and orange-red accents.

Mcree would agree, he's a snuggler.

What’s the word where you’re from that, when pronounced exactly as it looks, identifies a tourist immediately?

I have yet to see my first lil guy, but they also give me such joy. Hoping the fuzzy fellas predict a warmer winter this year....

I've been seeing my favorite fuzzy friends around! 🍂🐛
Illustration of a wooly (sometimes spelled woolly) bear caterpillar. It's fuzzy and cute and has a happy little smile. There's lines radiating around it and above it says "it's wooly time!" in lowercase hand lettering. The background is a light orange checkered pattern.

Every spooky season I make Cattycorns (cat candycorn). Well this year I'm going big. The tiny one is the size I've done in the past for comparison. This big chonk will be available for preorder this Friday on my website
