Maybe there is too much sh*t going on... my calming thought of the day is, there is more to the US than the Federal Gov. It is f*cked up, 2028 is far away, but we can do good work at the community and state level, in business, non-profits, and Houses of Worship. We get to say what our country is.

The 1947 renaming to Department of Defense was done for a number of reasons, one was nuclear weapons. We now have a kind of war no one wins. NO ONE. A good reason to emphasize defense and diplomacy. Maybe when you are really old, you don't worry about the end of the world.
