Every issue was like that.

I'd send off a plot and I'd get back magic.

What few people realize is that DC stands for Deucedly Clever.

And everyone will be glad to leave the stadium and go to wherever they’re putting it on to watch it, I’m sure.

I expect he'd have wound up doing HELLBOY anyway, since it didn't start until years later. But you never know.

I'm looking forward to seeing this finale from Veitch & crew at long last, for sure.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
This is why it's taken so long. DC wanted to keep you buying for another 37 years before you were crushed by disappointment.

I figured we'd get this eventually.

Sure took a while, though.

No alt text, so: this is an announcement for Swamp Thing 1989 #1-4 by Rick Veitch, Michael Zulli, Vince Locke, Tom Mandrake, & Trish Mulvihill, under DC's Black Label imprint

They're finally printing the canceled story arc in which Swamp Thing goes back in time and meets Jesus
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
SANDMAN had already launched by the time that SWAMP THING arc was abruptly canceled, so it wouldn't have affected it. Gaiman was going to take over ST after Veitch, but only part time because of the SANDMAN gig.

How did this affect HELLBOY?

avalanche or roadblock
i was a snowball in hell
avalanche or roadblock
a jailer trapped in his cell
money's all broke
and food's going hungry
if it wasn't for disappointment
i wouldn't have any appointments

It's because his clothing is ready-to-were.

Californians, let’s call (916) 445-2841 to tell Newsom’s office to sign the following pro LGBTQ+ rights bills before the deadline:

AB 82/SB 497
AB 1084/SB 59
SB 418
AB 554
AB 728
AB 678
SB 590
SB 450

He hasn't signed the other bills yet, but he still has days to do so
This headline is misleading for not mentioning that.

The gender education veto is bad, but far from the most important trans rights bill on his desk.

There's still time to contact Newsom for the rest!

Yep. That's where my dad's family got it.

The drawing of the bear, though, is by Benjamin Dewey. When we launched AUTUMNLANDS, he did animal-portraits of the entire creative team, and we used them in the letter column.

I still have that shirt.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
Unusual, I know. But I swear it happened that way.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
It used to be, but then I became a poppa bear, and from that moment on everything was too hot, too hard or too big.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
I am the bear.

I have no portage.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
The bear comes in through the door, usually.

He doesn't fit through the window.

Explain your user name:

My father's last name is Busiek, and so the whole family just kinda used it too, and he and my mom named me Kurt, so that differentiated me from the seven other Busieks in the house.

And it stuck.

Explain your user name:

Tea is my first (nick) name, I like Teaberry Gum and Berry-Blue Jell-o, and I have been using this as a handle since college, that’s really all there is to it.
levin.bsky.social
Explain your user name:

Our original last name had no vowels so we chose a more pronounceable (but still Jewish) one when they let us in here. And that’s my handle because I need to be findable online for professional reasons.

It's actually currently available on Amazon new for under $20.

Considering it's got 19 issues and a backup story in it, that's a pretty low per-issue price.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
There’s a hardcover collection of the whole series; I picked up an inexpensive copy a little while ago.

Untold Tales of Spider-Man No. 6 has a clever and classic Wizard scheme that feels just Silver Age enough, but Kurt Busiek also taps the Spidey/Human Torch dynamic nicely. Throw in some soap opera as well as the fact that Pat Olliffe depicts a killer Johnny Storm.

This is fair.

After all, I wrote it, but never knew you had it.
kurtbusiek.bsky.social
I mean, Trina was great, too.

So let's have both. Especially if I got to write both.
