17 at the Arboretum today! Cooler weather was wonderful for a pop-up protest.
Meet Sandy Pearce! She’s been with ICLT for 5 months and believes simply doing something keeps her energized. As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, she values freedom and the rights of others, and loves the honks and waves at our pop-up protests.
To join her, check out our pop-up schedule!
Your vote’s power is on the line — literally. North Carolina’s redistricting committees are taking public comments on a new Congressional district map. The lines they draw will shape who represents you for the next 10 years. Make your voice count! Comment, call, or email today. Link in bio.
Quote of the week from our friends over at the Anti-Fascist Book Club. The group is reading the Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler and follows Lauren Olamina, a young woman who can feel the pain of others and becomes displaced from her home. Want to join the club? Visit the link in our bio!

No Kings Day is over, but the protests continue. From the organizer:

Another first-timer at our Beatties Ford pop-up this morning, one who took us all by surprise but not the same one I hugged at the NK2 Rally on Saturday...
Who let the FROGS out???
Remember to bring food donations to Saturday’s #NoKingsCLT protest!!

Please refer to the provided list of priority items that our community food pantry, Nourish Up, is in most need of.

You can also donate directly to Nourish Up here: nourishup.org/donate/

It’s been three weeks since Adelita Grijalva won her election, but Mike Johnson is refusing to swear her in — all because she would be the final signature needed on the discharge petition to release the Epstein files.

He’s denying AZ-07 a voice in Congress. Swear her in now.
Reminder:
Tomorrow night, join Pulitzer Prize-winning author Anne Applebaum for a Q&A on her urgent work examining how autocracies undermine the democratic world—and how we can fight back. Scan the QR code to register. #anneapplebaum #defenddemocracy #learnandgrow #autocracyinc
