Ayumu actually experienced the inverse. The aberrant magic within her lied dormant up until the tadpole. Which meant her nature as an aberration remained undetected by the Gith crèche she grew up in, but also that she was significantly less powerful and felt like part of her was...missing.

Ayumu lives with Xal, and ghosts aren't anything unusual to her given that she's as interested in necromancy as he is. She considered him resourceful for putting corpses and ghosts to work in his camp in the dream they first met, that didn't change when she moved to his universe and house.

Xal always hated his white irises; he dreamed of having red ones. Ironically, after his ceremorphosis, his irises finally turned red thanks to cursed Karsus magic, but by then he no longer cared.

The longer and deeper you gaze into Ayumu's Illithid eyes, the more they begin to shimmer in not just silver, but tiny fragments of every color imaginable.

The eyes of Ayumu's Gith form/disguise were her chosen gift from a very powerful Great Old One upon moving to her new home universe.

Xal's house is always haunted by ghosts, skeletons, and corpses because he practices necromancy, even though he doesn't consider himself a professional.
It's normal for him. Problems only start when all these funny guys suddenly show up where Xal never allows them to appear.

I like that the game doesn't tell you what's good or bad. It doesn't try to impose any morals on you. It just says that there can be many opinions and none of them are correct. It all depends on what you personally consider to be right.

The xenomorph would chase Ripley, and Xal would chase the xenomorph to neutralize it and teleport it to his house for further study. This creature is too fascinating for Xal to quickly lose interest in it.

Pretty babies. 😍 I have always admired Maine Coons, but because of their long hair, I am unlikely to ever buy a kitten of this breed.

My cats fight each other nonstop when they're awake, so hearing them purr at the same time while they're in the same room is nearly impossible. 😔

Meeting those gnomes was the scariest thing that had happened in his life since his transformation. 👀

Cannibalism was never unusual for Ayumu. That crèche she grew up in ate some of those they dragged back from their "excursions" to the material world.
In the Bhaal temple, what was technically Ayumu's "first kiss" resulted in her biting the lip of the person off, then eating them alive.

I just wanted something that's a vague nod to the role of dreams within my Emperor's-Sword-OC's journey, so I looked up "dream" in different languages. Landed on 'Ayumu' (japanese).

I didn't initially intend for there to be any deeper lore to her name, that happened later xD
