Gamedev is my life... or it would be if I had one Vancouver-based, programming enjoyer, compulsive wheel reinventor, Godot Enthusiast, Netizen (pronouns: good question) https://intangiblematter.net

Admittedly a good chunk of my memory of the game is at this point just Gilda and her theme

Either it’s a narrative understanding vs. an aesthetic understanding or they just haven’t gotten far in the game yet lmao

Basically never true for ADHD, but I saw multiple people comment under The Stupendium’s “Ad Infinitum” that it could be used to explain what autistic overstimulation feels like to someone without autism, and as an autistic person I’m inclined to agree

Yoshi's Island was the first game I ever called my "favourite game" back when I was first getting into gaming through retro gaming in the mid-2010s. Absolutely beautiful game.

tempted to add "DEI Consultants" to the credits of my next game, and the only name there is myself

So does this person really think indie devs are hiring DEI consultants specifically to put women into games?

put women and minorities in your next game

See these are the exact same reasons why I *wouldn't* want to be immortal. 99.99999% of it will just be nothing. It's a recipe for going insane and not the fun kind
intangiblematter.net
I'd rather be mortal because living *forever* means that while I might have a fun time for the first billion years or so, 99.9999999999% of my time being immortal would be floating in the empty void of space with nothing but my thoughts, and my thoughts can only do so much over eternity.

I’d actually listen to that Taylor Swift album

fifty replies from trans women whose bios say some variation of "brainless airhead puppygirl bimbo": do you just mean MDs or does this include people with PHDs too 🥺😢💔

Damn we have different porn games that we know I guess

I’ve called him and met him before and he was generally great and understanding, so I’m sure he’ll be willing to listen

But hell, if I get a Wikipedia page as “Canadian Digital Rights and Privacy activist” if this goes on too long so be it

Specifically it was petition 45-1 which would be similar to Australian and UK age verification laws for social media. Disaster for online privacy, and he opposed the similar “protecting children from online pornography act” last year!

Calling in ASAP to make sure this doesn’t get too far

REMINDER TO ALL MY FELLOW CANADIANS: openparliament.ca tracks everything your MP votes on and says in parliament, and you can subscribe to that with an RSS feed. My MP introduced a petition yesterday that concerned me, I got notified last night, and I called this morning to talk about it. Be active!

No I get the needless precision about memeing. Every time I make a caption meme I make sure that the spacing on all sides of the text is exactly the same (10px is my standard)

social media is exhausting to look at any feed on any platform lately for me, but I enjoy looking through neocities and other personal websites of that nature

kinda crazy how every single “just give people enough money to afford some basic stuff” experiments yield the exact same positive results that everyone benefits from every time, huh

Anyway, back to toiling

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."
