The cave people who discovered fire were definitely smarter than me, because it took like a week before I figured out how to keep a coal fire lit more than half an hour

That new Coca Cola ad just played on my TV.

Were they really hoping those slow-motion uncanny short-cut shots wouldnt look immediately AI generated?

I made a mod that replaces cliffracers with Thomas the Tank Engine. I am incapable of learning lessons whenever it involves corporations, because I fundamentally do not view toy company CEOs or media CEOs as people.

I could probably count on one hand the number of professional creatives I know who didnt grow up dirt-poor, who had access to fancy equipment and the financial backing for expensive courses and experiences.

When you really wanna create, you will create. Its like an itch in the brain.
All AI music does is devalue the work done by human artists. It’s not accessibility, it’s exploitation. We need real protections for artists against AI!

BTW — even if you had access to this AI startup as a child, you still wouldn’t know how to make music.

My older brother wanted to make videogames and I decided to do the same out of spite.

My entire career is built on the spite of my preteen self
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

It’s been so cold this week, I finally got to refurbing the fireplace that was hidden behind a crappy false electric fire when I moved in.

Unfortunately I had very little burnable wood so I had like an hour of nice cosy flames.

the trickiest part about researching dual quaternions is that nobody can agree on notation or convention

2θ vs θ vs θ/2

ab⁻¹ vs a⁻¹b

and of course,

q₀+εq₁ vs
(w₀+v₀)+ε(w₁+v₁) vs
(x₀+εxₑ)i+(y₀+εyₑ)i+(z₀+εzₑ)i+(w₀+εwₑ) vs
cos( (θ+εd)/2 )+v*sin( (θ+εd)/2 )

Wish I'd taken the time to figure out @oskarstalberg.bsky.social's dual grid concept earlier. It simplifies everything so much while also enabling nicer tile shapes.

In short: instead of designing tiles, design the boundary slices between them.
