A short haired gold Malinoix shepherd mix dog is resting, curled up with his head on his tail. He is laying on a green and white checkered blanket on a leather couch next to one of his favorite foster kittens.

The kitten is a brown and black tabby about ten weeks old. He is playing with a small, round, fake fur cat toy next to the dog.

His front paws hold the toy and his back paws are braced against Leo’s back.

This little kitten needed chest surgery and long term care. Leo was always very gentle with me because he knew the baby needed safety and love.

Four months later and fully healed he got a good home. He spends most of his time in his Mom’s home office, is adored by their family,
and is now named Taco Cat.

There are days I need to use an electric cart in a grocery store, days I can manage with just my cane, and days I can walk in, and do all my shopping sans aids. I never know which till the day.

What people don’t see: after putting things away at home, with help from my spouse, I need to lie down.
