BE PRAGMATIC ABOUT PAPERWORK.

GET IT DONE WHILE IT'S WIDELY AVAILABLE.

DO IT LIKE YOUR HOUSE IS ON FIRE.
while I still keep having papers won't save you as a guiding principle during this time:

green card holders should, bar grave consequences with country of origin, naturalize asap.

leave any feelings about american/ess at the door and be pragmatic. pay a lawyer if neeeded for your case.
i think wapo gift link have a 10 clicks limits, so when it's shared openly it goes away pretty quick

The Trump Administration made a deal with El Salvador that threatened years of U.S. law enforcement work to fight MS-13 so they could send people to CECOT—one of the most inhumane prisons in the world.
this is beyond ridiculous but also unfortunately a real issue to consider

blocking is best

Just a heads up, either Karl himself or some goon acting on his behalf is labeling people Nazis when they point out he's an actual, literal fraud lying about his credentials as a working academic with a university that has previously told him to cut that out.

Do with that what you will.
Oh I see now.

Buddy, you thought I was a problem for you before.

This is carte blanche to be truly, deeply malicious in ways you cannot fathom.
ah yes. that guy had beef with people i wanna follow and they kept being added to the list even tho they aren't far right
this one shows up as blocked here I go finding which list did it
people need doorbell cameras on a wide scale the same way they need to share locations at all times with their contacts: they don't.

your fringe case use isn't more important than stopping the mass surveillance of the public, ever, and particularly now.

“White House officials have invited Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Kansas and Arizona State University to a Friday meeting” along with the University of Arizona, University of Texas, Dartmouth, and Vanderbilt!
Exclusive: The Trump administration is reaching out to more universities about its funding-advantage proposal after several early invitees rejected it.
leqaa kordia, a political prisoner still in prison and less discussed online
Leqaa Kordia—not a Columbia student but “a simple Palestinian girl,” as she describes herself—is the last remaining campus protester still in detention from the Trump Administration’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian demonstrators in the U.S.
The Last Columbia Protester in ICE Detention
Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian woman who has lived in the U.S. since 2016, has been detained in Texas for the past eight months.

oof, can't believe now there are states that you won't become a citizen until the shutdown resolves
thinking if there are jurisdictions that don't have admin ceremonies at all? eastern missouri comes to mind, I can't recall an admin ceremony since all I know it's with the court even if the immigrants have no need for a judicial one
This is also going to stop any naturalization ceremonies that need to be done judicially.
For the first time since 1995, a federal shutdown has come for the federal courts. By the terms of the Anti-Deficiency Act I'd argue enough staff should be kept on to ensure timely litigation of habeas petitions filed by ICE detainees, but not hopeful about that

update on khalil, should've made a thread eons ago alas
UPDATE: NJ District Court GRANTED Mahmoud Khalil's request to lift domestic travel restrictions imposed on him by conditions of his bail (int'l travel still restricted + other stipulations).

The court has also DENIED the government's request for GPS or electronic monitoring.

Yup Dean has been talking about "avoidance" culture for the past few years and I pair it with my thinking about the "conciergification" of US culture/society. I've been thinking both ideas together for some time. [also read Morgan's thread]
Last week, Dean Spade talked about how we’re all being socialized into being anti-social — which is really the heart of most of our problems today — and the only way out is to push ourselves to become social again.

New: hackers just doxed hundreds of DHS, ICE, FBI, and DOJ officials. I went through the data. In many cases does look legitimate, sometimes includes residential addresses.

If anyone's wondering how this is possible, the answer is these strike teams are moving terrifyingly fast. Grab first, ask questions later. We were about 8-15 minutes behind them today for several hours. They're jumping out of vans, chasing people across lawns, taking them from bus stops, etc
30 people disappeared in this shaded area today.
like having cameras on regular cops has ever stopped anything

stop giving them more money and resources. starve ice!
if e-verify isn't reliable (it isn't) then employers have to walk a very fine line of checking employees eligibility to work

you have to make sure they are not unauthorized to work but also not asking so much documentation that it could be considered discrimination based on status, good luck
well,.considering this other case it's just e-verify fucking it up apparently

but also, ffs people at least try to get a freelance immigration reporter on board during these times?

"ABC News has not independently verified Evans' immigration status."

The ICE arrest of a police officer in Maine has sparked a days-long exchange of blame between the resort town's police department and DHS.

ok, it would be nice to know what's his current status since there's at least a work authorization in the mix?

once again wishing for more immigration reporters
