That process produces female heads of government more reliably than our traditional winner-take-all does, so this is not entirely a knock.

And I'm pleased anyway, because I'm thoroughly charmed and, to quote Mr. Cuomo's own words, he can suck the creamy ricotta from this big, fat cannoli.

Zohran 100% has the juice and I'm not trying to sour the moment, but this is fundamentally a Westminster-style victory (the candidate was produced by a more circumstantial, minoritarian process and then path dependency made him The Guy) that is less purely messianic than some people want it to be.

BREAKING: Cuomo has fled the NYC mainland following its fall to socialist Zohran Mamdani.
Sources say he will establish a new govt on Staten Island with the goal of eventually reclaiming the entire city. Mamdani has promised to purge all remaining Cuomintang on the mainland.
