Knocked out the 2nd draft for 'Guilt or Ghost' last night and sent it into a local contest with midwest writers guild of Evansville. Now I only have like half of 'A Dreadful Collection' to push through until editing starts.

'Guilt or Ghost' done tomorrow for the Midwest Writers Guild Anthology contest. Cutting it a bit close, but I got excited about finishing the last bit of a Dreadful story last week.😅

I've decided to leave the fantasy story I wrote out of my next anthology and make it entirely horror focused. I'll include Dragon's Last Honours with the novel I've been plugging away at for years; both take place in the same world.

A Dreadful Collection will be the working title of the anthology.

Got a chunk of Dreadful: Night Forest written last night. Going to keep taking time, even a little bit of time, to write every day instead of forcing myself to carve out an hour+ minimum. I think I'll be a lot more productive this way.

It's probably not efficient, but for shorter stories, I keep a paragraph or so of notes at the beginning of the file to reference back to. Longer novels I've taken to creating a Bible or bio page. It genuinely helps with this issue.

At some point on your novel your brain will be too full to remember a lot of made-up details. Now you need to develop a strategy for capturing your details in a way better than having to re-read half a novel to find out what you said, back then...
