Garden spiders (Araneus diadematus) can build impressive webs, at least in terms of the distance of the support lines. For the last 2 days this one has built a web where the lines go from the gutter of my kitchen roof to plants below, a distance of just over 2m. @britishspiders.bsky.social

I've been trying to get a pic of these tiny spiders for years but their 50p coin size webs seem to vanish after a day and their owners are small and shy. There's dozens of them, then they vanish overnight. Any idea what they are?

When it's really hot, I put wet kitchen paper by a few spiders in my conservatory and they do sit on it for ages. Absolutely fascinating to watch them.
I try and put the spiders outside but they just come back in through the open windows 🤪

That's really interesting and she was very small, so it was a difficult video to get. At one point, it also looked like she was tapping her foot on the wet cloth and putting it to her mouth.

I had to lie on the floor to get a good look, but had to stop as I'm not as young as I used to be 😆

I found this beautiful tiny fella... only about 3mm and I only spotted him because of his stunning neon purple wings in the sunshine 🌞
