A few years ago, in what may have been my last enjoyable interaction on Twitter, I asked for movie recommendations. And yall brought the HEAT.

Let's do it here!

What are some all-time movies that haven't won big awards and aren't super well known that I need to watch?

In some cases probably, but this needs to produce a shared doc that will be used by a lot of people. So if it doesn't display right across versions and cloud, probably won't work out

Unfortunately Word is what they make me use, definitely would not partake by choice.

The party that elected a wannabe tyrant because, they say, America is a decripit, horrible, dying wasteland is somehow framing a protest by citizens passionate about improving the nation as a Hate America Rally. None of their rhetoric stands up to the smallest level of scrutiny. It's just exhausting

Today is World Homeless Day, and after years reporting on this crisis, I'll just say: homelessness is neither inevitable nor intractable. It's the result of choices—political, economic, moral—that can be unmade.

And this: how we treat the unhoused is a bellwether for the violence we will tolerate.

That's what I am discovering more and more. There was a potential path to a workaround through Legacy Form Fields or some nonsense. But probably will break if anyone except the originator tries to view/use the doc. And this needs to be functional for multiple teams of folks.

Office is a work requirement unfortunately. Wouldn't be using it unless forced.

Printing anything is among the most difficult tasks on earth for me. I've had three different printers in 10 years and I mostly just gave up. Even if I can make it communicate, the ink that I used 3 months ago to print one (1) sheet of paper is now empty. Lucky I have print shops within blocks.

Job requirement. Have used Google Docs forever and almost never encounter stuff I want to do but can't.

Fair. I haven't used it much the past year or so. But I was usually happy with the (quite basic) editing to docs I wanted to do, including bringing in images and moving text around.

I love Acrobat by comparison, have mostly always achieved the stuff I've needed to do and usually intuitively enough that I didn't have to Google a dozen things.

I have just concluded that there is functionally no way to insert a dropdown list into a document in a way that is remotely acceptable visually or even usable within a shared document if one were to overlook the shockingly awful way it looks.

Almost monthly, I discover a new way in which Microsoft Word is shockingly, inexplicably awful at doing what should be a simple, core capability of a document program.
