Saturday Comics Recommendation: The Last American is a nuclear war miniseries that is on par with Where the Wind Blows. What does one do with supreme authority when there is nothing left to have authority over?

Trump didn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize but neither does Machado deserve it. Please read about what she REALLY stands for then tell me if I am wrong.

The Marlboro Man might not have been the best reference point but I had to think of someone who Kid Rock was ripping off with the mustache and folksy presence.

Open letter to Turning Point USA.

Dear TPUSA,

I found your Super Bowl Half Time show right here and while he’s nowhere good enough for the rest of us, he just right for you.

Sincerely,

The MAGA “tough people” don’t want you to know that Bob Ross was an actual tough person who didn’t talk about it. He was a retired Air Force noncom who got tired of yelling at people and became the soft spoken, easy going painter we all know and love.

If Maxwell gets Epsteined, MAGA will martyr her like they did Charlie Kirk.

You don’t have to like Santos. Hell, you can hate his stupid ass. Fine with me. However, I feel he was thrown under the bus by people in the GQP who are much worse than he was.

Daddy Bush was only slightly better than his son while still being a butt awful president. He gave us Clarence Thomas.

Wrong. He wants US to spend $27 billion.

First they go to the public schools. Then the public libraries. Then the bookstores and streaming services. Then they tell you what you can or can’t own in your home.

I used to enjoy wrestling when it respected the intelligence of its fans somewhat. Like the time Chris Jericho said “Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance”, which is an album by Christian metal band Tourniquet. Or Damian Sandow sneaking in A Confederacy of Dunces References.

Monday Book Recommendation: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao effortlessly combines geek culture, sex v. Intimacy issues, satire, and the horrors of the reign of Rafael “El Jefe” Trujillo. You’ll be invested.

Overdue Monday Book Recommendation: You have to read the first two books in the series to understand Death’s End but putting in the work is worth it. I’m not even the biggest fan of book series but I love this one.

Or childhood improved. I would rather see children reading these kinds of books than being having Prager U forced on them.

Sunday Movie Recommendation: The History of Time Travel is a spectacular mockumentary. It doesn’t have big elaborate special effects but it does a lot with its minuscule budget.

Overdue Sunday Movie Recommendation: To Live and Die in LA is one the 1980s best crime thrillers. It still holds up after 40 years.

I got a little sidetracked and didn’t do my movie and book recommendations for last week. Now it’s time to rectify that mistake.
