One of the movie’s shining gems is Peter Cushing. The man is a consummate professional, and in his last outing as Van Helsing he shines just as bright as his first time, plus he has great chemistry with co-star David Chiang (Hsi Ching). Plus he cuts a dashing figure in his dandy adventurer’s outfit.

It would have been funny (and deeply humiliating for Trump and MAGA) if the Nobel committee had given Trump ALL the prizes this year. Economics for his stupid tariffs, medicine for his groundbreaking work on Tylenol and autism, peace for stopping 7 wars (but not actually naming them), and so forth.

It would be ironic if the award going to a Venezuelan causes him to finally take out Maduro, thereby enacting the longstanding goal of the prize winner. In all likelihood, though, he’ll just ramp up his extrajudicial killing of people on Venezuelan boats.

Literature for Art of the Deal. Even physics and chemistry somehow. It would have made him look like such a small and stupid baby. And it would have been an interesting statement on how destructive he is in the world.

I can tell you, as a former attorney whose main job was to get protesters out of jail and who still does that work pro bono, there is a distinct lack of urgency (and just as likely, a distinct fear) in the activist space right now, especially as compared to the threat. We are losing.
