As a kid, I worked for my dad, a house painter, over the summers. One summer we spent several months scraping and painting a Victorian house in traditional colors, a real "Painted Lady". It looked good, but it was damn hard work.

That's such a good dungeon trap to separate a group. Half go up the steps and the skeletons in the stairs turn the steps into a ramp, climb out and attack the group.

This is an especially worrying statement when facial recognition can be inaccurate, biased, and generally make mistakes. Basing whether someone should be in the US or not, and ignoring physical media like a birth certificate, is ripe for disaster bsky.app/profile/jose...

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

Thompson said in a statement “Mobile Fortify is a dangerous tool in the hands of ICE, and it puts American citizens at risk of detention and even deportation.” He also said “ICE officials have told us that an apparent biometric match by Mobile Fortify is a ‘definitive’ determination of a person’s status and that an ICE officer may ignore evidence of American citizenship—including a birth certificate—if the app says the person is an alien. ICE using a mobile biometrics app in ways its developers at CBP never intended or tested is a frightening, repugnant, and unconstitutional attack on Americans’ rights and freedoms.”

Playing as Ruskis? When I was running Godlike more frequently, I did a few scenarios set in Crimea. The Soviet talents were assigned to penal battalions until the front was stabilized and they could be sent back east to be "studied". They fought hard in hopes their bravery would save them.

It also implies that wizards can determine another person's character class, even if they don't know it themselves. Maybe he can see the stats of all the people in town before he picks a server to join? "Keep your K/D ratio low, or a wizard might pop in and force you to join their clan."

Also, stop making the minis so damn fiddly! I don't need every miniature to be an intricately detailed masterpiece. Sometimes, I just want to paint up a mess of orcs and zombies. Make them crisp and well proportioned, but I don't need Wayne Reynolds-level of greeblies and doo&dads hanging off it.
