I don't think corporations realise that the reason people read articles about games is because they're full of thought, meaning, and emotion. I didn't buy magazines back in the day for guides and neither did anyone else. Features teams are the last people who should be laid off.

Make all games journalist independent, allow real voices and real thoughts to be spread. To paraphrase George Orwell, "Anything other than the truth is just marketing." He said it far more eloquently, but it rings no less true, and I'd like to think readers can smell the marketing a mile away.

To everyone who has lost a job: You ARE skilled, you ARE valuable, you ARE a great, fantastic, wonderful writer with things worth saying, reading, and hearing. Don't let a soulless company or person tell you otherwise. They are wrong. You wouldn't be losing a job if you weren't amazing at it first.

It's going to be free-to-play and out this year, supposedly. I'll reserve judgement for when I've played it because I really don't know for sure what I'll think of it. I'd like to enjoy it, but we've been down this road a lot and so many games like this haven't hit.
