Before turning it over to the parties, Judge Reyes says:

Can we all agree that I'm fortunate enough to be the first person to rule on that section of the Home Rule Act? Huzzah!

Charles Allen interregnum to say that the team is open to reducing parking, re-siting the garages, and kicking in for Metrorail (?). Allen's rightfully been a harsh critic of all this; imagine if the rest of the CMs held out for something more meaningful than a one-time CBA and *negotiated*.
Motion to proceed agreed to, 51-49.

Thune began to move his substitute amendment, and asked for unanimous consent to dispense with reading it. Schumer objected. So a clerk is now reading all 940 pages.
R Johnson switches from nay to aye, Lummis aye, R Scott aye, Lee aye. 51-49

Rand Paul: "Tariffs are taxes & when you put tax on a business it's always passed through as a cost, so there will be higher prices. There's an economic fallacy that trade deficits mean anything. They're artificial accounting. The only trade that means anything is the individual who buys something"
Listening to all the public feedback on the call as we speak!
Justice Alito's dissent from last night's order has been published. He objects to the necessity of rushed relief, but notes that "[t]he Executive must proceed under the terms of our order in Trump v. J.G.G." - notice and opportunity to challenge removal.

The Supreme Court doesn't usually issue orders at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday while the lower court is still deliberating, the government hasn't responded, and one of the justices isn't finished writing a dissent.
If you think only citizens are entitled to this, (a) you're wrong but (b) pretend for a moment that a citizen was wrongly arrested and denied the hearing to show a mistake was made. No way to prove innocence, on exec say-so. This is why denying due process to anyone denies it to everyone.
I don't care who you are and what you're charged with, in America you have a right to one phone call after you're arrested.
FDR sent a letter to the IRS commissioner in 1938 saying he was "wholly unable to figure out the amount of tax" and after providing his income information, asked them to "let me know the amount of the balance due."
6.7% inflation would probably sweep every incumbent from office in the next election
Horrendous:

*UMICH PRELIM APRIL CONSUMER SENTIMENT FALLS TO 50.8; EST 53.8

*UMICH YR-AHEAD EXPECTED INFLATION AT 6.7%, HIGHEST SINCE 1981

Judge Paula Xinis to the Trump presidency, on remand from the Roberts Court: figure it the f*ck out and "take all available steps" to facilitate Mr. Abrego Garcia's return.

How many IRS commissioners have to resign before I don’t have to send in my payment?
Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson have a separate statement agreeing with the result but saying they would have declined to intervene in the case at all.
