The worst part is that I'm afraid to look up content online for this game due to the possibility of having something in 2nd Chapter spoiled for me.

I also want to go back and do a 100% run eventually, but I'm gonna wait until the Switch 2 version is patched before I do that.

Finished Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter last night, and while I have thoughts on the game, HOLY SHIT that ending hits like a friggin freight train...

The last time a video game story's ending hit me this hard was Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in 2017.

I'm STILL reeling from what I have witnessed.

Marvel Zombies

A neat idea, following the thread of one episode from the amazing "What If?" Series.

But the execution was...meh. It was entertaining, yes, but otherwise it just seemed kinda...standard. Going through the motions, if you will.

Entertaining, but not very interesting.

Knives Out

I watched the second movie, Glass Onion, about a year ago, so I figured I should see this one.

And I'm glad I did, cause this was an amazing watch! While it wasn't perfect, it still kept me thinking and surprised all throughout.

Would recommend!

Godzilla: Singular Point

An...interesting watch, but unfortunately not really one I can recommend for one reason only: not enough Godzilla.

It had some good animation and a really interesting setting and concept, but the execution was a bit flawed.

DK Bananza DLC

DK Island isn't that interesting tbh.

But Emerald Rush? Absolutely addictive, and to me, well worth $20 by itself. It's a fantastic, frenetic, fun-filled time that still presents a (mostly) balanced challenge.

If you like base Bananza and roguelikes, you HAVE to check out this mode

K-Pop Demon Hunters

I'm usually not a fan of musicals, and I don't listen to K-Pop at all.

But...wow. This movie is incredible. A story of connection and acceptance that I wish more people these days would learn from. Not to mention the amazing animation.

A true gem of a movie.

Overall, this direct was solid, but I do see why people aren't so positive on it. There was a lot, but the heavy hitters (Mario, Zelda, Pokemon) only showed up as DLC, ports, spinoffs, or updates.

A great direct for fans, but not much for people on the fence with the Switch 2 as a whole.

DK Bananza DLC is MINE.
Age of Imprisonment looks AWESOME.
Virtual Boy Classics are neat, but I could care less.
Prime 4: The bike might've finally sold me on the game.
Legends Z-A: Mega Greninja might've finally sold me on the game.
Hades 2 is on my radar, but I still need to play 1.

RE: 9/12/25 Nintendo Direct Full Thoughts

Galaxy 1+2 pack may be expensive, but DAMMIT I WILL HAVE IT.
Rosalina's Storybook: A must buy for me.
Movie being Galaxy themed is hype.
Amiibo are take it or leave it.
Wonder DLC looks like Mario Party minus the board.
Tennis is meh.
Yoshi is...intriguing.

THEY PUT SALMON RUN INTO DK BANANZA, ADDED ROGUELIKE ELEMENTS, AND VOID KONG IS MR GRIZZ!

I AM HERE FOR THIS!!!

Potential hot take: I think the Galaxy games are worth $35 each, so the $70 physical pack is worth it to me.

$40 for each individually is pushing it, though, especially since those releases are digital only.

Minus the Mario Galaxy re-release bundle being $70, I loved the new Direct.

Mario Galaxy movie reveal, new Yoshi game, Prime 4 updates, and the new Z-A megas were my highlights.

The Virtual Boy shit was also stupid as fuck, but...everything about that platform is already a dumb novelty.

Regarding tomorrow's Nintendo Direct:

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a new 3D Mario game announced, but

1) I'd be skeptical on it if the Odyssey team isn't involved, and
2) The Odyssey team has had their hands full with DK Bananza for the past few years.

I'd be hyped, but I'm not expecting it.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land (100% Switch 2 replay)

While the full package is a bit pricey ($80 total on Switch 2), every moment of this game is a delight, even moreso now at a butter smooth 60 FPS.

Despite its high price, this is a must play for any Switch (1 or 2) owner who enjoys 3D platformers

The real-time to turn-based combat is new to me, and the Sepith system, while a bit unwieldy at first, I can already see the potential in.

At this point, I'm just waiting for reviews, to make sure there's no game-breaking problems on launch. Otherwise, I'll be getting it on or soon after release.

Trails in the Sky: 1st Chapter Demo thoughts

My first experience with the Trails series, and I gotta say...yep this demo sold me on the game.

Estelle and Joshua both seem like compelling protagonists, and I do want to see their character growth and journey.
