#ICYMI sharing my recently published piece via Fangoria on the fantastic ALAN WAKE 2 and how it ties into the theory of Hyperstition, where fictions can bring themselves into reality.

Hey y'all - sharing again as I'm really proud of the work I'm doing here & just trying to promote my writing however I can. I'm pretty good at promoting everything else but myself these days. All subs are appreciated but the paid subs will help me keep this going (plus we have a big vet visit soon).

I'm sure this will be surprising to no one but I love me some spooky season, and I always kick off with the Queen herself 😍

Our hallowed queen of horror hosts celebrates an anniversary today as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark released 37 years ago!

"How's your head?" "Never had any complaints."

Elvira stands in a ripped dress in front of a storefront wielding a big-ass gun in Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (1988)

Happy New Nine Inch Nails Day to us all.

The second and third films have a continuing character but generally they are separate stories so you could start with whatever one you fancied.

Mission Impossible is probably my personal favourite out of the lot, some incredible action filmmaking in there.

But The Purge has some fun entries. The second has a real Carpenter vibe about it.

Don't remember the first I ever saw in general but my first R rated film in a cinema was Freddy Vs Jason 😂

We rated LITTLE JAFFNA pretty highly on the latest @thedtvdigest.bsky.social, about Sri Lankans living in Paris and using organised crime to fund rebels back home. Definitely worth checking out.
Poster for the film LITTLE JAFFNA showing a man with mottled skin wearing a blue/grey sweatshirt and holding a pistol. An image of other characters is superimposed on his chest.

Wheatley's recent film Bulk is excellent if you can find it. Very fun and looks great, really good use of minimal budget.

You know what, The Nun spin offs don't get enough love. They're solid little religious horrors. That first one in particular is a really good looking movie, vibes all over the place.
