Love the characterization in "Oh Whistle."
The Colonel is, on one hand, a complete idiot but saves the day (yes, chuck that thing into the sea!)
While the esteemed learned Professor 1) blew the cursed whistle for funsies and 2) wants to improve his golf game.

🟠 Graphic novels are a wonderful way to get kids engaged in reading (my kids are crazy for them), but just because it's illustrated doesn't mean it's appropriate for all ages.

🔵 The book includes topics such as incest and the psychological effects of rascism. These things happen IN REAL LIFE, and fiction is an effective way for young people to start grappling with the realities of that.
