We traditionally support Pakistan.
We also traditionally just don't like Afghanistan.
But the big question remains, who does Trump like?

Even though Ukraine is holding back Russia to slow ground gains, with enormous Russian losses, for Ukrainians living near the front lines, those slow ground gains eventually get too close.

East Ukraine Stronghold Evacuates Families as Russia Nears
While the streets in the center of Kramatorsk were calm, tensions on its outskirts were palpable.

Except when it rains or is very windy.
Then they just get destroyed the old school way, with spotters and artillery.
😁

Now this is some seriously good real time intelligence gathering and execution.
Russians video themselves with new expensive electronic warfare equipment and post it.
Ukraine geolocates.
Sends in drones and destroys the expensive equipment.
Amazing.

Does anybody believe that Putin actually stops and says to himself "Will my intended action escalate the war?"
Hell no.
Every single escalation of this war has been committed by Russia.
Stop worrying about escalating the war.
It's already escalated.
Release the Tomahawks.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
It is way past the point of worrying about whether or not Russia considers some Western action to be an escalation of the conflict.
Russia does not get to dictate what is and what is not an escalation.
Providing Tomahawks to Ukraine will not escalate a war which is daily escalated by Russia.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
Russia escalates the conflict on a daily basis.
Drone and aircraft flights into NATO airspace.
Cutting power to nuclear reactors in Ukraine.
Employing illegal gas attacks against Ukrainian soldiers.
Daily killing civilians, women and children.
Bombing churches.
Bombing homes.

The ammo storage outside of the turret now has blow out panels helping to protect the crew.
But there is still ammo stored in the bottom of the turret for the autoloader.
Even though it's been given some additional armor, the crew is still sitting with some ammo.

Maybe our U.S. soldiers should be adding much more marching in their training schedules.
Get used to it.
You ride towards the front lines, 15 km from the front your IFV gets destroyed or disabled by drones, and you've got 15 km to walk to the fighting.
Dismounted infantry.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
Since both Russia and Ukraine have been reduced to walking infantry on the front lines, anything with wheels becomes significant.
Motorcycles, ATV's, buggies, electric bikes.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
1st Azov destroyed 3 tanks and 16 armored vehicles.
And 41 motorcycles.

Anybody else finding it weird that we count number of motorcycles destroyed in today's wars?
Like it's something significant?
I'm not yet used to motorcycles having such importance on a battlefield.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
Sorry, my bad.
35 tanks and armored vehicles.
Not all 35 tanks.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
"Ukraine’s 1st Azov National Guard Corps reported on October 10 that Ukrainian forces repelled a reinforced battalion-sized mechanized assault comprised of 35 tanks and armored vehicles toward Shakhove from Ocheretyne (south of Kostyantynivka)."

35 tanks.

Then the next year Russia can send in refurbished T-64's.
The 3rd year T-62's.
The 4th year...nothing.
The stockpiles are exhausted.

With every following year, Ukraine will be facing older and older refurbished tanks.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
Russia has 779 T-72 tanks left in stockpiles.
Let us assume that every single one of them can be refurbished to a high degree.
Current Russian tank losses in Ukraine are 2.4 daily, which is 876 for a year.

So Russia can send refurbished T-72 tanks into battle for 1 year.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
"Russia’s reported efforts to refurbish T-72A tanks indicate that Russia will likely have sufficient armored stocks to re-equip frontline units in priority areas"

In 'priority areas', but not all along the front.
If you have to selectively distribute your old tanks, then you're not doing well.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
"Russian forces appear to be conducting these assaults during rainy weather conditions, as rain and high winds impede Ukrainian drone operations."

When it rains or storms, Russia sends the tanks forward.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
These numbers look impressive, but many that are left are in rather poor shape.
There are different levels of refurbishment.
Just enough to make it run, or major upgrades of armor, sensors, electronics, etc. in order to make it useful on the modern battlefield.
jeffrybazooka.bsky.social
"The source estimated that Russia has roughly
141 T-54/55
885 T-62
611 T-64
492 T-72A
287 T-72B
44 T-80B
82 T-80U
and zero T-90 tanks left in its reserve."
