This is a Good Thing. In the run-up to the Iraq War, Knight-Ridder was excluded from the White House press room. While other media organizations were attending briefings and parroting White House talking points, Knight-Ridder was investigating and debunking those claims. It was their finest hour.

Professional sports have learned almost nothing from the Black Sox scandal. They are incentivizing this behavior by climbing into bed with gambling firms. Anything they do to weaken fair competition harms their product. The money they make from gambling ads isn't worth this risk.

I LOL at the claim that Trump's pro-Argentina agenda will shift some rural voters toward the Democrats. The rurals hate the college-educated, blue-haired cat ladies and soy boys of the Democratic base. And they would rather starve to death than vote for the same politicians as them.

I stopped calling Trump a liar. Oh, he tells untruths, but I think he believes them. He's surrounded by sycophants who debase themselves by lavishing Dear Leader with ridiculous praise. "Sir, thanks to your unmatched genius, gas is $1.99." Trump, pleased with the news, repeats the bullshit.

Dick Cramer and Bill James framed the notion of a clutch hitter incorrectly. They were looking for guys who outperformed their numbers in high-leverage situations. They couldn't find examples and concluded the clutch hitter was a myth.
