but I was so misunderstood.
sure, I dragged people off
into dark alleyways
and sucked out their souls.
but they didn't DIE.
I let them go back to their homes.
It wasn't my fault they killed

as a punishment,
they wrapped us together,
body to body,
before burying the two of us
just under the dirt.
and when he died,
I felt his body begin to rot
before I finally succumbed.
it was his gas in the end,
since he was always so full
of hot air.

I don't know how many times,
I got it wrong.
They just weren't disfigured enough.
Each bloody mess,
Prompted a deep clean,
To whit, mother always called my house
Spotless, which was all to the good I suppose.
I want things to be perfect,
Before I lay her on my table.

it's better than being tossed from the battlements.

I told my family once
bury me in a glass coffin...
the trick was that I would haunt
anyone who looked too close
because I figured the afterlife
would be a bit too boring,
being without a body and all.
