Republicans are not honest brokers. They repeatedly violate their agreements, even those supposedly binding. I really don’t see how any kind of “deal”can be reached if they are just going to rescind it after the vote.

I am struggling to understand the political situation there but the simplest explanation I can figure is that the far left can be as dictatorial and illiberal there as the far right is here and elsewhere . Why she aligns with Trump given how he treats his (and her) ppl is still a mystery though.

The healthcare part is incredibly important but it is only part of what the demands should be. Honestly Trump/ GOP have violated their trade agreements, their alliances, their humanitarian aid promises. They lie incessantly. I can’t think of any guarantee they could offer that would be trustworthy.

I know Mike Johnson says there is nothing for the House to do but there is.

You see by law a budget was supposed to be in place by Sept 30th, but Rs haven’t passed one. The reason? There isn’t a GOP budget. They haven’t even started working on one. This is what the House should be doing FFS!
